If they sell out every week it could catapult them into becoming a real big club the financial benefits will be massive for them ,always liked going to Upton park proper ground

I'm just waiting for a judicial review from other clubs preventing them from playing there after Upton park's been knocked down.

It;s going to be brilliant :ayatollah:

Tough one to call but the deal they've managed to secure at the Olympic Stadium is so good for them that it was hard to turn down, they've fucked over the tax payer though and I really cannot believe what they are going to get away with paying. Upton Park needed rebuilding too. I would have preferred it if we just done up Ninian park, I really hate the new souless piece of shit stadium we have now.

The EU's bound to step in at some point on State Aid rules.

In all honesty though I could never understand why they didn't just build the stadium with football in mind after the games, it was just brinkmanship.

Because they had there head in the sand well and truly, they thought after the Olympics the country would fall in love with athletics and there'd be events there all year round. I do think there is a large amount of snobbery towards football from the likes of Lord Coe and the organisers, they didn't want their great stadium to be used by a football club when really it's the only viable option.

Look at the City of Manchester stadium, before it was even built for the commonwealth games the council and Man City agreed they could have a 250 year lease on the stadium provided they pay all the maintenance costs. West Ham on the other hand backed the local authority into a corner as they knew it was already built and there was no other real options for it's use. Apparently the tax payer will even have to pay for the corner flags and goal posts!
