Didn't agree with him being paid for Children In Need but is a legend of British TV and Radio.
RIP.
Not really an appropriate place to bring that up and to set the record straight he never asked for or got a penny as a salary. Was offered an honorarium.
RIP Terry Wogan

Not normally a fan of these RIP threads but he was one of the greats. A celebrity from an era where you had to have some talent to become a celebrity. Brilliant broadcaster.
RIP Terry

Fair enough, probably a bit out of order. Have removed it from my original post.

When he couldn't appear on the radio or tv recently, it was said he was suffering from a bad back, I presume they were hiding the true facts about his illness, unless that's where the cancer was. Very sad news indeed, RIP Terry, you will definitely be missed.

My Mum loved him, she got his Fight The Flab flexi disc autographed by him!
Someone said the 'honorarium' Terry was paid for his nights 'work' hosting Children In Need was £10,000 tax free...
Anyone know, what is an 'honorarium'?
And why if it's for work is it tax free?
