" Slade to be offered new contract. "

Sat Jan 30, 2016 10:10 am

That's my opinion. The only way that Slade will not be manager next season is if we are PROMOTED. He would clearly need replacing or a lot of help if we got promoted, whereas he has shown himself to be competent at Championship level.

Mark my words, and be feel free to point this post out to me if he gets removed this summer.

I don't think this is necessarily a good thing, btw. :bluebird: :bluescarf:

Done his job, cleared the decks as much as possible, kept us in the championship.

Time for phase 2. Tan hands reins to kids, new young hungry manager, full blue season under belt.

renewed optimism.

There could be a lot of truth in this as Slade has done exactly what he's been asked of by Tan.

If this does happen, watch the ST sales plummet.

Wouldn't be surprised tbh we don't want him that's just another reason for tan to keep him

Let's hope not.

Appoint Trollope for the rest of the season and get rid of Noddy and Young.....It's not going to happen, but it needs to be said that we've only stayed in the top half gotcha table because of Trollope.

What complete and utter nonsense. You're yet another one of the clueless "We lost because of Slade but we won because of Trollope" brigade.

I'm not a Trollope fan so he would have to go as well as Slade and Young, need a new broom asap in my opinion of course

I disagree,I think Slade will want out as well as Tan will want a change too.
Does not mean we will get the manager we want tho !

Tbh Slade bores me, the football is awful. I am one of his biggest critics, cant stand our match day experience, its like a chore going to games. But CCFC is a drug, im going to back Slade from here on as its Tan who is really controlling everything and until someone elses takes over the club it is what it is.

Time will pass one way or another things will turn for the better eventually :bluescarf:

Sounds good but Slade having his contract renewed is very possible.

It would be understandable from Tan's point of view BUT NOT THE MAJORITY OF FANS!

As you say, he has done all that was asked and probably better than truly expected

Luckily, it looks like the 2016/17 Season Ticket renewals won't be out until mid-March, so it gives both fans and club a chance to review the situation after a few more games and if things don't improve rapidly I think even more fans will talk with their feet

Sad but inevitably true

I don't believe it is about Slade the man. I believe it is just the abject lack of adjustability and lack of flair in our play in recent times. Many would argue that Malky's football wasn't the best but we accepted that because it was a winning formula and it worked!

He (Slade) may yet surprise us, but the signs are not good :(

I sincerely hope not. The lack of connection between club and support is a chasm at the moment.

If we are ever to get the love back irrespective of how, we need a figure head that a set of one of once most passionate supporters can get behind. No inner circles, no upstairs interference but another Burrows, Mckay or ideally May.

Please can we have the trench mentality back, something to be proud of. A manager and team that fight and live off the support.

Yes if we were top 2 there probably wouldn't be a problem with Slade but the footballs inconsistent and poor at times. I was optimistic of reaching the playoffs but that's fading fast. I hope he's not our manager next season.

I agree with his lack of adjustability and his persistence with 4-4-2 (although we are playing 4-4-1-1 now and it was probably always supposed to be 4-4-1-1 with Mason as the number 10), but the lack of flair can't be blamed on Slade, as he hasn't been backed at all.

Hmmmmmmm I totally agree with you :ayatollah:

IMO this will go either 2 ways,

If as I suspect VT is miffed that he had to change back to Blue, which to back down is not in his makeup. He then put RS in as he knew he was not up to scratch but could work on a budget and be told what to do and be hard enough to take criticism from all quarters. He will then be given a 2 yr contract as he knows we should stay in the Championship but if we don't RS will be able to deal with the lower leagues and we should be ok in div 1 or 2 for years.

VT does not worry about the money, he will see us be a poor lower league side playing in a state of the art stadium. That's another reason for him staying away, he just doesn't care.

Or RS will be released and an up to date Manager will be employed who can work within budgets and bring success to the club like a number of other clubs ie Bournemouth.

I would prefer the latter but something else tells me, maybe not. :ayatollah:
