Tony Watt about to join Blackburn Rovers on loan

Tony Watt set to join Blackburn

Our friends at South London Today are reporting Tony Watt is to leave Charlton and join Blackburn Rovers on loan.

Watt only returned to the London club after his move to Cardiff collapsed due to the Bluebirds’ transfer embargo.

Now, he looks set to move on again, this time to Ewood Park to join Paul Lambert’s side.

Exclusive: Charlton Athletic striker Tony Watt set to sign for Blackburn Rovers

Thursday, 28 January 2016

By Richard Cawley in Football

Charlton striker Tony Watt is set to join Blackburn Rovers on loan.

The Scottish frontman only returned to the Addicks when a permanent move to Cardiff City collapsed when they were placed under a transfer embargo.
And Watt has now been cleared to talk terms with Blackburn - who ironically were the opposition for the 1-1 draw at The Valley last weekend and which was the former Celtic man’s comeback game.
Charlton have been keen to still move the forward on and initially were keen on a transfer that brought funds in.
But now Watt looks set to join Blackburn on loan for the rest of the campaign.
Charlton have allowed Joe Pigott to move to League Two Luton Town as well this week.

I thought a player could not go to 3 different clubs in one season? ? ? ?
Not sure?

For me this is not good, we should of been able to have brought Watt back on loan and he was worth keeping on loan.

As I reported Watt had just arranged to move in to an apartment in the City Centre of Cardiff after his medical,He was sent back to Charlton without a full explanation from our club and to this day never heard from City and I stated at the time that was dissrepectful .

Totally agree this is very disrespectful and unprofessional from our Club.

Watt gave his all when he played for us and as a fan I ask no more, I wish him all the best for the rest of the season.

He was moving in to a block of apartments where I have one and he was so excited about signing for Cardiff then bang, that was it,sent on his way without a full explanation and he never heard from us again.

In the last 4-5 years the players who have left Cardiff the majority have left us on bad terms, yet years ago,old players always had high regards for Cardiff City. Such a shame.

Plenty of club bashing again on this thread ,we were under an embargo he was told this and Cardiff tried getting him back on loan but Charlton said no ,I think unless watt is totally thick it's self explanatory to watt the reason why

It was simple we couldn't sign him ,we were placed under an embargo he knew this ,Charlton wouldn't agree to extending his Loan it's not rocket science

And its simple manners and respect.

No wonder we are in so much shit and a club virtually dying.

Our club needs to earn the Respect back its lost.

So which is right?

Charlton have got arsey with us and won't let him come back.

Watt himself does not want to come back. Or

Cardiff City do not want him back.

The first is childish, the second understandable if be messed him around and the third is just ominous.

50- 100 pound tickets for under 16 would be great I really don't think the adult tickets are priced to bad

I would accept the Adult prices, but we need to fill seats and we need the kids to keep going, so it would not hurt to have thousands at £50 each.

Bradford City in the lower division have done it and they average nearly 18,000 fans :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Gutted that he's gone there on loan. Knowing we can have loan players and he's not coming back here

I'm glad.
All the posts saying he's coming back and how much money he's on and the embargo blah, blah, blah.
He never was.
Get over it, he's gone.

cant see why club dont give away free tickets to kids to fill it up. say to schools etc, their parents will have to pay to take them again then. did it last game of the season last season and i thought it was great
i think £50 for kids under 14, £100 from 15-17 and adult after that sounds about right.
i agree with wez that prices are fine for adults

Re: ' Tony Watt about to join - '

He obviously turned us down. He doesn't want to play here any more.
