Matthew Kennedy keen to stay at Port Vale

Thursday 28th Jan 2016

Matty Kennedy is on loan at Port Vale and he says he’d be keen to stay there if his time with the club goes well.

Here’s what he’s had to say...

I knew Rob Page was interested in me before I went to Cardiff. Vale have been trying to get me on loan for a while and it is the club that showed the most interest, of a few clubs that wanted me, so I am just happy to be here.
He knew a few of the coaches at Cardiff. They were saying he is probably the best manager to bring the best out of me so hopefully he can do that.
I am still young and the more game time I can get the better; I am just trying to improve.
It is a month to start with but I have spoken to Cardiff.
They are keen to try to get me back after the loan but if I am playing and doing well I am going to want to stay.

If I am playing and doing well and Rob is keen on me then I would want to stay to the end of the season.

Can't blame him as slade has not given him a chance this season

bit misleading title... hes on about staying till the end of the season to get regular game time which to me makes sense. Hopefully we get him back with a good attitude next season to challenge for the first team.

All because of slade and his dire management.slade won't be in charge next season so hope he changes his mind

Hmmm, ever thought of being a journalist, twisting words :-)
Better for him to stay there, get some game time, hopefully mature a bit.

They are keen to TRY to get me back
Problem is he's not good enough yet for the first eleven

Stop knocking a player when he's down! "No ambition??". Matthew Kennedy is exactly what city need, a young fit and aggressive player, but SLADE is shit. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

The club does need to take a player's aspirations into account. He will return next season having gained valuable experience..
