Charlton Athletic striker Tony Watt is set to head out on loan again.

The South London Press understands that the Scottish frontman is poised to go before Monday’s 11pm deadline.

Watt, 22, had been on loan with Cardiff City and they had agreed a permanent deal which saw the Addicks receive just under £2million - with a sell-on.

But the move collapsed when the Welsh club were placed under a transfer embargo.

Watt returned to Charlton last week and started Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers.

The Addicks wanted to sell the former Celtic teenage star but it now looks as if a loan deal is the most likely one to be struck before the transfer window closes.

If this is the case surely watt is back with us and a direct replacement for mason.

I would prefer a loan again to ensure he is worth the reported 2m fee

I think a number of us said that he could well come back should Charlton not sell him. It all depends on whether Slade managed not to piss him off !!

Twice the player of Mason despite only getting 2 goals, provided a bit of impetus when he got on the ball.

Let's hope this does happen, if it does then a front 2 of him and Pilks could be something worth watching and that's not something I've said very often since Slade came in
