who will replace mason?

Wed Jan 27, 2016 4:36 pm

Who do you think Cardiff will try and bring in to replace Joe mason by Monday. My guess is Shola Ameobi. any other suggestions?

Would'nt be surprised if they don't bring anyone in to replace him. Safety from relegation is already virtually guaranteed. The club has never had any real hope of promotion this season, so they may choose not to add to their wage bill as we will be playing Championship football next season irrespective of any new signings, or any other players being moved on.

We started the season with loads of strikers, now we are down to the bare bones. I don't think they will bother with anyone else, just hope Saadi gets his fitness back.

Immers of course.

Can we recall Healy?

Not difficult to replace is he? Pilks and Sadi hopefully. Good business

We still have

Ameobi
Saadi
Revell
Macheda
Pilkington just behind

Still options.

I'm praying Idriss Saadi is the striker we're looking for!

Id play Fabio better he runs around like a lunatic up front, couldn't see him scoring many but at least he wouldn't cost us any.

It's enough to keep us up surely.
May even force Slade to ditch the 442 from time to time. Keeping Mason hardly improves the list

He was the best out of that sorry bunch. We aren't going down, when Wolves went down a couple of years ago there was a massive slump in the second half of the season and they went down on the last day of the season. I had a look at how many points they had at this stage in the season and we were a fair few points ahead of them.

Start scouting for a striker now and be ready to get him in the summer I say.

I like the idea of Ameobi just behind Pilkington. Whenever Ameobi has played up front this season, it's been instead of Kenwyne and the target man role doesn't suit him.

Playing in Mason's role however, Ameobi could do some damage, how sad I'm saying this with neither Ameobi or Pilkington being strikers mind!

Ameobi shouldn't be anywhere near the team.

Why not? Mason's role where he can get on the ball, turn, run at them and try to create without having to worry about tracking back to defend would be perfect for him. He will be much more of a threat than Mason in that position, that's for sure!

Ameobi has all the skill and talent in the world when he actually bothers. Considering Mason was largely anonymous, I don't see the harm with Ameobi replacing him as although he my be just as anonymous, he can do something Mason can't do, create a bit of magic to win the game.

Ameobi he really goes anonymous he is a wasted jersey and we never win games when he starts coincidence I think not!

Slade has already said he sees Immers as a forward rather than a midfielder.

Maybe Immers and ......Watt.
Selling Mason and getting Watt back for less money wou!d make good sense to me!

Watt could cost 10 pence and we still couldnt sign him

I was meaning get Watt back on loantill the end of the season with an option of buying him cheaper than the selling price for Mason!
IMHO Watt is prob the better player.

ToS is 21 and still hasn't played for us, I doubt he's anywhere near good enough.
