Watt to stake his Charlton claim

Any plans Cardiff City had of agreeing another loan deal with Charlton Athletic striker Tony Watt could be scuppered by new Addicks manager Jose Riga.

Watt scored twice in nine appearances for the Bluebirds in a two-month spell and a permanent deal fell through after Cardiff were placed under a transfer embargo.

“If he’s fully committed with us, then of course he has a future here,” said Riga. “He needs to be fully involved in what we need to do.”

Watt was recalled to the starting XI for Charlton’s 1-1 Championship draw with Blackburn on Saturday.
