Serious Question - Season Tickets

Wed Jan 27, 2016 12:36 pm

Having been a season ticket holder for 17 years now, I do not see any ambition or changes being made to the club which makes me even think about renewing next year?

Anyone else the same?

I'm sure you've supported club in a worse predicament than the position we find ourselves in now. For a majority of our time spent up and down the leagues, this is probably where we should be, I think we've spent more time in League 1 etc. Not saying how you should spend your money but we've been living beyond our means for years now. So it's good that we're finally living within our means.

What would keep me as a ST holder is if more emphasis was put on bringing through local talent

I have been in worse, its quite clear in the past 17 years its not been all glory, but I have no idea where or in which direction the club is going?

A meaningful statement or a change in management would entice me.

Management may change, Slade's contract hasn't been renewed yet, if it were to be renewed then I myself wouldn't renew.

This would be the club as a whole Annis, its not negative. However, I have no reason to shell out £500.00 a season for the club at the minute, id rather get a ST at Newport and actually enjoy the football.

Now this I don't agree with. You support Cardiff City alone, why put money into a club of fans that openly hate the club you've had a season ticket for 17 years for?
If I weren't to renew, I would ground hop the Welsh Leagues, helping put money into the WELSH pyramid system, rather than pay into the English pyramid system.

Re: Serious Question - Season Tickets

Next season I will by a season ticket even though It is a 180 mile round trip every home game.
I do believe the club are cleaning up the mess of the last 15 years and will eventually make a play for the premier league, but on a more solid footing.

We are not being told the truth on many things by the club but also many non truths appear on this board, but that is CCFC for you.

I have enjoyed the more recent games this season more than I have enjoyed most of the games in the last 3 or 4 seasons. Slades football may sometimes be boring, but so was Malkys, the only difference being Malky got the results.

The footy under Dave Jones was the most entertaining I'd seen in years, but i wouldn't want him back, nor would I want Malky.

I don't like Tan for past ill advised mistakes, but I do not want him out either, we need him and his investment.
The debt to equity thing is still a tool that some people on this board will use to poke at Tan and the club, but in all honesty, who would do that with the isaac and langston issues still unresolved. As dalaman said, now is not the time to convert. When those issues are gone, then we can ask the questions.

So for me, yes, 2016/17 season ticket will be bought.

If you think Newport play attractive football you need a holiday. The lower leagues are entertaining at times but its all get it up front quick.
Better off spending £5 a match and watch Barry Town rising up the leagues. Very attractive and fast football.

Agree. We've definitely had a lot worse Cardiff City teams in the past. It may sound odd, but one of the main reasons the atmosphere is so bad right now is the new stadium.

Ninian Park is gone and no matter how shit we were, it was always a decent atmosphere.

I will renew one of my three season tickets next season. That way my son can pick and choose his matches next season. This would seem the most sensible thing to do :bluebird:

Personally, I will be renewing but I do think that the price should decrease. The amount of fans at the ground is totally unacceptable. If we can drop the season ticket prices to £230 for adults (£10 per game) then that may well increase the season ticket value which in turn will hopefully increase the amount of match day purchases as a result of a better atmosphere :ayatollah:

No. Don't renew if you don't fancy it, as we could do with a few less doom and gloom merchants constantly dragging us down. I've had a season ticket for a lot more than seventeen years - as far as I'm concerned these are still the good times. Top half of the Championship is like a dreamland for anybody who goes back more than a few years.

I can not agree with your assessment of Slade,he needs to go and be replaced with a better quality manager, the problem with finding someone of quality is Tan!!

Yeah I don't agree with that statement either Bob. You're well within your right to not renew if you don't want to. I too see the lack of ambition. Perhaps and hopefully you will find that spark again by the end of the season so that you can join us again next season

Trouble is finding a quality manager for cheap. We are cost cutting and need to. Slade is jeeping a team in the top half of the table for cheap. To get someone of quality on the cheap we need to take a risk on someone. We can't afford to risk loosing our status as a championship club by taking a chance with an inexperienced young manager.

You argued for over a year saying I was the negative one and support your club, well I stand by my beliefs and opinions on how City are run, but that would never stop me renewing, for 43 consecutive seasons I've had mine and this season is No where near the worst, in fact better than say 20 of the the seasons I've supported City.

No, I'll still be there!

Each to higher own but I support Cardiff City FC 'the club' plus the eleven players on the field at any given time and not any temporary owner that (not for the first time) uses said club as a tool for his/her own ends!

We may have gone backwards in the last two years but we are certainly way further forward than we were before (love him or loathe them) Sam, The Riddler, TG and finally Tan came in!

As with every other season I live in hope! :ayatollah:

Re: Serious Question - Season Tickets

Personally if things at the club stay the same now they will have to reduce the price of our current season tickets. In addition to this we would like more season ticket benefits. I appreciate the club doing the friends for £10 on some occasions but it doesn't really give us season ticket holders any benefits - it just means our mates can come for £10 when we pay full price! Obviously it's good to get people through the door and to experience the occasion with friends but what about a nice benefit for ST HOLDERs? It could be anything like 25% discount in the club shop Voucher. A free away trip travel paid for by the club of your choice. for every friend you bring to a match (friend paying full price) you both get a free hot choc and a. Mars bar or a free beer or whatever drink you want etc. People loves freebies! WHAT ABOUT A FREE BLUE SCARF when you renew your ST! It doesn't have to be massive but somethi like these ideas I guess people would be really appreciative of (speaking for my self obviously). Obviously I would love the club to buy lots of top players and get promoted in blue (it would be a dream) but that can be hard to come by these days so a little perk here and there would be a massive bonus. :bluescarf: :bluebird:
