Shola Ameobi has offered to play for Bolton for free until the end of the season, but the Championship club cannot take the striker up on the offer, according to the Bolton News.
Bolton are under transfer embargo, meaning they cannot sign any contracts registered with the Football League.
Ameobi's contract expire at the weekend, having scored in Bolton's 3-1 win over MK Dons.

I thought that this was a reference to brother Sammi. Acknowledging that he has been so poor until now that he doesn't deserve to be paid any more.
