Cardiff City FC Foundation U16s Deaf Team are looking for support so they can play their first tournament, the National Deaf Youth Football Tournament in Liverpool on 20th March.
Run on a voluntary basis by players parents, the team needs funds for kit, travel and staffing. Help the U16s reach their goal and represent the City of Cardiff at their first national Tournament.
Meet Sam Jackson and his dad James.
Sam plays for Cardiff City FC Foundation’s U16 Deaf Team. His dad James helps to run the team alongside other parents and with the support of Cardiff City FC Foundation. They train in Cardiff once a week.
Sam and the team love their football and training together as a team. However, there is a lack of competition locally for the junior deaf team and so in order to play any competitive games they must to travel to tournaments. This is where they need your help to raise the money needed for travel, kit and staffing. The team hope to raise enough funds to play in the National Deaf Youth Football Tournament in Liverpool on 20th March.
The opportunity to play other deaf children, to enjoy participating in a competitive tournament of a game that they love, and of course to play in Cardiff City FC colours, is hugely exciting to Sam and his team mates.
The confidence, and memories gained from this opportunity will last a lifetime. Please help the team to make their dream a reality and pledge what you can to get the team on the Road To Liverpool.
