FOXES BID FOR EDER

Sky Sports

Leicester City have submitted a £10million bid for Sampdoria striker Eder, according to our Sky colleagues in Italy.

Manager Claudio Ranieri said last week he wanted to bring in a striker before the close of the window and we understand 29-year-old Eder will be offered a three-year contract by the Premier League leaders.

Leicester eye transfer of Italy international Eder from Sampdoria to take pressure off Jamie Vardy

Claudio Ranieri has made a £10million move for Sampdoria’s Brazilian-born striker Eder.

The Leicester boss has prioritised a frontman to help Jamie Vardy as he bids to beef up his surprise Premier League leaders for the title run-in.

Eder - whose full name is Eder Citadin Martins - has scored 40 Serie A goals since joining Samp in 2012 from fellow Italian side Empoli.

Genoa-based Sampdoria are understood to want around a fee of around £10m for the 29-year-old who, despite his place of birth, is an Italy international.

A three-year contract worth around £29,000-per-week is understood to be on the table.
Leicester have already answered claims that they lack the depth for a championship challenge by signing Birmingham winger Demarai Gray and powerful FC Copenhagen midfielder Daniel Amartey, who can also play in defence.

Having allowed Andrej Kramaric, a £9m buy this time last year. to move to Hoffenheim on loan for the rest of the season, the Foxes have run the rule over a number of strikers including West Brom’s Saido Berahino.

But they believe Eder could be the answer up front.
