' Thousands of Wales fans set for Euro 2016 disappointment as 52,000 tickets applied for tickets '

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=163822 :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Many Wales football fans are likely to be disappointed after more than 52,000 tickets for this summer’s European Championships in France were applied for – far exceeding the allocation for the team’s matches.

Chris Coleman ’s side face Slovakia in Bordeaux, England in Lens and Russia in Toulouse during Wales' first major tournament for 58 years.

Governing body Uefa’s allocations for each match means there are 7,000 tickets available to FAW gold members for the Bordeaux game and 5,000 for each of the other two.

But the Football Association of Wales told Wales Online on Thursday that gold members had applied for a total of 52,160 tickets for those three games, plus conditional seats at any knockout games which Wales qualify for.

The window for gold members' ticket applications closed on Monday.

There will be a lot of disappointed people on here. Can't wait to read the rants from people who've been to one game in four years demanding tickets.

Oh yeah the ones who've never bought membership because they always had someone else buy them tickets or bought them on the gate.

Its still going to be difficult getting tickets, and if you do your lucky! But it does sound like the article is a bit misleading. Apparently those 52,000 applications also includes the conditional tickets, meaning the "tickets available" they mention should be more than 17,000

it should of been 1 ticket per member ..... the way its been done is pathetic and theres going to be people with tickets that have never watched wales play ever. I have bought 2 memberships for the last 3 campaigns and watched nearly every home game along with my son. The reason i bought my son a membership was just in case we qualified . Looking at the 2 ticket system i need not have bothered. Football really is fecking clueless

That's. What I'm doing
More likely to get a ticket over there by other fans from other countries who have maybe got a ticket for our games who don't want to go than siting on your arse in your arse at home

I should be ok as qualified for Bosnia away when we were allocated only 750.
This may include follow your team though. I paid 780 Euros to get a ticket for every game including the final.
If Wales don't qualify for any games I've paid for, then they will refund me the missing games. So maybe the number of tickets includes follow your team?????
The Welsh FA are rewarding loyalty by using a points system which I think is right.
The Welsh FA have used their database to go back over the last 3 campaigns.

The whole thing is a joke - even though I fall into the top 70% under the England fans scheme for some of the games I am not guaranteed a ticket due to the ruling you can only go up and die one category and no ones knows how many in each category to start

You could have a top capper miss out and someone on low caps just because they applied for eight category

It sounds like a nightmare for Wales tickets also !!

England got 6000 - 5000 for fans and the rest for the England football family. Assume that the same for Wales

If only they had the common sense not to draw positions in group they could have played the game in Marseille guaranteeing 11000 tickets each before the football families

Those fans who have done away trips to Serbia, USA, Bosnia, Andorra etc should be given tickets automatically. I've not done a Wales game for years. I won't apply for tickets as I don't deserve them. Reward the loyal fans.

Bluebird since 1948 , what are you then super fan ?Everyone has a right to apply surely. We have not qualified since 1958 there is bound to be a reaction, and a positive one at that. These will include young and old, people like my 85 year old father.Perhaps you are like the backward few on here who keep chanting "plastic".What do you want then a few hundred hard core or would you rather see Wales flourish as a football nation with everyone involved? Sad pathetic comment on your part

What have I said in this thread to warrant that outburst you mouthy little c**t.

Everyone has the right to apply, didn't say and you will not hear me say otherwise. But the most loyal fans must be rewarded first and I don't give a f**k if your 85 year old father misses out if he hasn't been to any games. Are you genuinely saying that fans who only went to Belgium at home should be in with the same chance as someone who went to Bosnia, Andorra and countless over places around Europe?

Bring on the rage threads, bring it on.

Spot on. Give tickets to those who have been to away games in last 5 years. Then distribute to those who have done 5 home games in last 5 years. Then look at those who have done 4 games and so on. All about loyalty. I could say I watched us v San Marino in late 90s and Azerbaijan in early naughties which I did but seeing as my last game was thev0-2 Austria defeat I deserve naff all so I won't apply.

Spot on.

No reason why it couldn't be one ticket per member.

I've missed maybe 2 home qualifiers in the past 3 campaigns so I'll be really unhappy if I miss out on tickets while many who've never seen Wales in their lives will get a ticket.

I've been a member for 12 years. In that time been to just 4 aways and about 15 home and now applied for an England ticket. If I don't get one so be it, still off out anyway for 3 nights.
