Sheffield Wednesday are weighing up a bid for Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes, according to the Yorkshire Post.

The Scottish forward has been linked with a move away from Ewood Park this month, with league leaders Middlesbrough also thought to be keen.

It’s believed Blackburn could now be ready to let Rhodes leave after securing the services of Danny Graham on loan from Sunderland for the rest of the season.

Blackburn are said to value the former Huddersfield Town forward, who is the son of Wednesday goalkeeping coach Andy Rhodes, at £12m.

Rhodes has been a prolific goalscorer in recent seasons, scoring 82 goals in 158 appearances since joining Blackburn in 2012, including 10 in 25 games during this campaign.

Carlos Carvalhal appears to be keen to strengthen his strike force during this window, with Norwich City’s Gary Hooper expected to re-join the club following a loan spell earlier in the season.

The Owls sit in sixth place in the Sky Bet Championship, and face Reading at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday.
