' City prepared to sell for £300,000 '

Thu Jan 21, 2016 10:50 am

Cardiff are prepared to let Eoin Doyle go permanently to Preston, if Preston are willing to buy him , the price is believed to be £300,000

Well that's just great we are short on strikers and struggling to get goals now we are selling the strikers we do have because the only one not named for sale is Saadi as he's always injured everyone's up for sale on the cheap and we can't replace them to a certain extent because we are under a transfer embargo Slade really is clueless

In my opinion thats too cheap although I think he would be best moving on

It was a gamble getting him but he isn't good enough for a top championship club or making the step up to the premiership

IMO he came into a team lacking spirit and playing awful football. Not given a fair chance in my view but we have seen them come and go under RS, so who or what is the problem?

We are like a pub football team with players coming and going it never gives the kids a chance to latch onto someone to follow.

More of the same as long as he is here :ayatollah:

300k plus wages off our books :sladeout:

I don't agree with this one, Mason yes but City should haul him back (if the loan deal allows) as he is the type of striker best suited to play the lone man in a 4-5-1 if that is what Slade now has in mind.

That's why we bought him as no top championship club would look at him. A mid to smaller championship club should suit him like Preston or us :bluebird:

I liked Doyle and would rather keep him than Mason, but why are we willing to sell him at a loss? :sladeout:

It is a very strange one this.

I felt Doyle was settling in at the end of last season. He was confident to go and tell Slade the club did not need another striker. I wonder if that is where it started going wrong for him.

Doyle has not made an impact at Cardiff and has hardly been on fire at Preston either. I would sell but £300k is not enough. I would sell for £500-£600k though.

We aint going up and aint going down, im rumours are to be true then sell Mason for the 1m+ (I find that hard to believe) and recall Doyle.

I think youl find alot of the transfer dealing are our of Slade's hands. The club evidently need more money to balance the books.

I know the photographer at Preston and I can confirm that he is hardly setting the place on fire. To be honest I was surprised he was still there. I would take the £300k.

Its £300k in our pocket, a small amount off our wage bill but another name off our squad - freeing space.

That salary includes wages etc.

£300k is good as he is not going to play again for us

Another wonderful bit of business if this goes through. Bought for £1m, sold for £0.3m, loss £0.7m. Well done Tan and Slade.

What a shame. When he started getting used to the pace of the Championship and started scoring we decided to drop him and ship him out on loan. Another great Slade move.

I think given a bit more time he could develop into a useful Championship striker and we need one of those. If we play on the deck more he'd get 10-15 goals in a season at least. Chesterfield fans told me he needs patience because once he gets used to the level he fires on all cylinders.

He wasn't really given a chance.

Like Kennedy , Doyle played well at the end of last season and is definitely a better player than Revell. He hasn't the skill of Macheda, but is far more hard-working. I'd sooner sell Revell and Kiko and keep him. I think he could play as a solo striker, with Immers, Pilks or Mason 'in the hole'.

I thought once he got his first goal v Birmingham he was going to fire in more which he did.. strange to let him go as he had a good end to the season.
