' CARDIFF CITY ARE WILLING TO LISTEN TO OFFERS ON TWO OF THEIR STRIKERS '

The club have been willing to listen to offers for front pair Federico Macheda and Alex Revell but so far no one has actually offered money for them.

Bristol City have enquired about Federico Macheda, but have not actually put an offer in.
Macheda has returned from a back operation, but has been unable to get in to Russell Slades starting 11.

Rotherham have also enquired about Alex Revell but again without putting a firm offer in.
Revell was signed by Slade and recently went on loan to division side Wigan where his loan was cut short.

Russell Slade was hoping to have sold them both in the January transfer market.

Cardiff City are currently under a transfer embargo and Russell Slade has been told to continue to trim the squad.

Personally, I'd keep Macheda but (sadly) Revell needs to re-find his level and I wish him all the very best

Just get rid of that Revell!

Re: City Are Willing to listen to offers on 2 of Their Strik

Wed Jan 20, 2016 8:41 pm

Revell is barely going to sign for a club paying him £2K a week when we probably pay him three times that, you wouldn't.

These cheap gambles always cost

Chris, Macheda will score goals, Revell will be lucky to get a good club.

Will be very dissapointed if Macheda goes.

He deserves as much of a chance as Mason has got.

So what was the reason of signing Revell?? Hasnt really featured much , been on loan and now getting kicked out. Was it just that Slade is a gambler??

Revell might not be the most gifted footballer but he was fantastic with my two year old when we saw him in Costa. More than willing to chat and pose for pics. A real gentleman. So I hope he finds a club where he can thrive. I wish him good luck when he leaves and thanks for the effort. No one can fault him for that :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Hi Annis,

I expect clubs to come for both of them in the last few days of the window when they start buying anything.

I think at least 2 other squad players to leave and quite a few of the younger players to get experience.

IMO we will sign at least 5 to compensate for that even with the embargo :ayatollah:

Morning Karl, the stumbling block with Macheda is his high wages he is on and also even though Revell is on a low wage its still double what he was originally on at Rotherham, so other clubs are put off by this.
We never learn on wages/contracts.

How we've managed to get rid of players before under Tan is they are freezed out of the team and in the end they have agreed a settlement of their current contracts.

Im just looking forward to Rotherham home, after that great win at Wolves :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Morning fella, I agree we threw money around like it's out of fashion. Pity it wasn't spent more wisely, we would be in a far better place if it had.

I still think they will go there are a few clubs around prone to doing it and they all want strikers.

A few old timers from our era gone this past week, Glenn Frey etc. puts a perspective on ones life :ayatollah:

Re: City Are Willing to listen to offers on 2 of Their Strik

Would Revell be allowed to play if he did go to Rotherham? Isn't there some FA rule about not playing for more than two teams a season? I'm sure he's played in the league for us and also for Wigan so surly that means he won't be able to play until next season starts?

Re: City Are Willing to listen to offers on 2 of Their Strik

Thu Jan 21, 2016 10:45 am

Revell - yep he can go

Macheda - I am in 2 minds about - he never had a run of games, he gets injured alot but when he does play - he certainly is keen to make a difference, has pace, knows where the goal is and runs into the right areas etc.

If someone offers us the cash - about 2million I'd take it

That's not massive for championship players

Steve, Wez said that wage. I 100% believe he's on over £25,000 a week, maybe over £30,000.
