' GOOD NEWS, CARDIFF CITY STRIKER RETURN '

19th Jan 2016

Cardiff City striker Idriss Saadi is close to a return to fitness and has returned to training following a hamstring tear he picked up back in November.

Saadi joined the club at the end of August last year and has made just one appearance following a knee ligament injury which was picked up before signing for the Bluebirds and the hamstring injury which followed in the single substitute outing.

French-man Idriss Saadi has returned to training following a six-week injury lay-off. Saadi was injured in his one and only Cardiff appearance back in November when he tore his hamstring after coming on as a substitute against Reading at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Saadi excited fans with an impressive performance albeit for just thirteen minutes but with Kenwyne Jones leaving the club on loan and a recently implemented transfer embargo, Saadi will feel like a new signing for the Bluebirds when he does return to full fitness.

linked with a move back to France but the link was rubbished by Saadi himself who outlined regulations stating that Saadi would be unable to play for a third side in one season.

On social media, the striker posted “I come back soon” and a number of pictures of him working towards fitness in the gym. It is understood the former Cermont Foot striker has returned to training and will return to fitness within the next couple of weeks.

Russell Slade and his medical team will be expected to take serious precaution this time around, given the sensitivity of Saadi’s recent injuries and the risk of losing the front-man for another prolonged period.

I'm looking forward to seeing him have a run of games, could be the direct replacement for Watt with his direct style and pace to burn. :thumbright:

Good news he's back.

But we haven't really seen enough to judge whether he'll be a success or not, now is his chance.

that's fair enough mate, I'm just saying Everyone got on dhalie's back cas at 18 he didn't win us games because everyone said he was guna storm the championship after watching him play a game or two. Saadi did look like a spark but we need to just be realistic or we set the bar too high and get on their backs after a few games

I wasn't expecting things straight away from Daehli I knew he needed time to adapt and grow but it's diffrent with Saadi he is at a very good age looks to have the attributes to be a quality championship striker. :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Great news, but we need another striker or two in this one sounds like he's made of glass, and can't be relied on, he's been like Sturridge so far.....

I wouldn't mind if he's going to be like a Sturride. ;)
