In a market where Ross McCormack is sold for £12mil, and Jordan Rhodes is constantly branded around for £10~mil, then this isn't that outrageous considering Naismith is better than them both.

This is a brilliant bit of business by Norwich. He is easily worth the money. Everton should of sold Kone and not Naismith

Steven Naismith has completed a £8.5million move to Norwich City after very nearly snubbing the Premier League strugglers.
In a quite frankly amazing bit of business, Everton have managed to sell the 29-year-old for what can only be described as a vastly inflated price.
We all know that the January window isn't great for doing business in, but £8.5million for someone who has struggled to break into the side recently is a bit of a head scratcher. Is it panic buying by Norwich? Who knows, but you have to hope Everton gaffer Roberto Martinez can spend the money a bit more wisely.
The Scotland international's future had been in limbo for some time, Norwich had attempted to buy him in the summer and it was thought a deal would be concluded early in January, but it seems Naismith wasn't overly certain on the deal and in fact almost pulled the plug.
British tabloid newspaper The Mirror have said that Naismith had 'rung the Canaries to turn them down before being talked into' the move.
Naismith told the red top: "I had to think a lot about the future.
"Norwich have displayed class in the way they`ve done their business all the way through, and they`ve been very persistent.
"They`ve been fantastic in the sense of showing how much they wanted me, and I`m delighted to be here."
