BRISTOL POST
BRISTOL City are being linked with a swoop for Cardiff City striker Federico Macheda.
Sunday 17th Jan 2016
After failing to bring in Bolton's Zach Clough last week, the Robins are still on the lookout for an attacking player and Wales Online today report that Macheda could be the man coming to Ashton Gate.
The former Manchester United forward has made just 30 appearances since signing for the Bluebirds in 2014 and has netted eight goals.
Injuries and form have hampered much of his development this campaign and he has played just five times.
Macheda shot to fame when he scored a famous goal for United in the Premier League against Aston Villa. But he failed to live up to the heights of being a top-flight striker and left to join various clubs on loan including Sampdoria, Stuttgart, Doncaster Rovers and Birmingham City.
Championship strugglers City, who produced a stunning display to beat league leaders Middlesborough on Saturday, are keen to add another striker to ranks after failing to lure the likes of Clough, Dwight Gayle and Andre Gray to BS3 in recent times.
It was reported last week that director of football Keith Burt has already moved onto other targets and Macheda could be on the list.
Few rumours going arround Bristol are keen on Macheda .........................

Don't get why people listen to twitter rumours. They almost never come off.

Be quite cheap for Bethanys grampy to drive him there.
He is going to end up like Jay. Bounce between club to club and one day the penny will drop and he'll be a very good player. Just can't see it being us though.

My frown is turning upside down!
Can someone call
Bethandmatsgrampy?

The idea of the embargo is to balance your budget sheet, so yes.

i think Macheda is a great finisher but does seem to have the laxy dazy attitude like Kenwynne had.
could Macheda be used as a target man for us ?
personally id sell and stick to the 4/5/1 formation and use Saadi up there when hes fit.
id take a guess and say Macheda is 1 of the higher paid players over the 20k a week mark so has to go. but id hold on to get some money for him. what will Bristol pay ? 1 mill, maybe 2 ?

Give the man a chance, I don't think anyone of you would move very fast if you had the problems he has had with his back. Now that it is apparently sorted, subs bench start and give him more than ten minutes at the end of a game, only natural finisher at the club

Get rid despite the embargo we need to cut the cloth further with players like this. If we get anything g more than a penny I'm transfer fee this is a bonus
Sun Jan 17, 2016 1:53 pm
£350 K ?
Sun Jan 17, 2016 1:57 pm
He`ll go if we can bring in a loan striker
Sun Jan 17, 2016 1:58 pm
Get rid ,we need to get most of the injury prone dead wood off the books ,I think he could be a great player but his confidence seems to be shot
Sun Jan 17, 2016 1:59 pm
I don't think we'll sell him untill we at v.least get a decent striker on loan, it would be stupid really with Jones gone, watt gone, Saadi still missing.

Seen him play plenty of full games, but in poorly organised and tactically inept teams so it's hard to judge. But I think I've seen enough to say I wouldn't be too upset if he left.

He may of done ok yesterday in Masons role, lots of willing runners off him yesterday. But that's easy to say now

He's been a very poor signing from Oles days
Shame really but again very lazy striker who I think is still living off his Manu cv
get rid like above
Sun Jan 17, 2016 3:16 pm
I wouldn't get rid of him he just needs to be given a chance after his injuries.

Slade says Kiko needs more time. With Watt not coming back, there's no chance we'll let him leave

Cash in.
He's been here a while now despite his injuries, and not proved to be anything spectacular. We'll be fine without him.
