Slade "I'm not the only one who should be scrutinised at this club"
Sunday 17th Jan 2016
BY STEVE TUCKER
Cardiff City manager Russell Slade said his side’s win at Wolves was the perfect response to his critics as he insisted he's not the only one who should be under scrutiny at the club.
A brace from Craig Noone and a Joe Ralls strike helped ease the pressure on Slade, who has been given three games to turn things around and saw his own chairman admit the jury was out on his future this week.
With the club now under a transfer embargo too due to breaching Financial Fair Play regulations, Slade was in bullish mood following an unlikely 3-1 victory.
“It’s just a good response from us, it does not matter what the circumstances are,” said Slade.
“When you’ve lost a match you are always looking for a response. When you walk into this job you are always under pressure. I do think when a club gets in this situation, you have to look at the whole club not just what is going on on the pitch. It’s the whole club where there needs to be scrutiny.
“If I’d only done 150 games it would have been a double blow, but there are always challenges and they are not always challenges on the pitch.
“The football club needed a response and that’s exactly what we got. We got a positive reaction throughout the whole game. Whereas we were disappointing at Hull in both boxes we were very strong in both boxes and the best team in both boxes and that’s won us a football match.
“The forces were pushed on us really. The players who came in did well. We got a top, top performance, a good team effort and a welcome result.
“Football is like that it changes from day to day. It’s all about results and we’ve got a positive one today. The important thing is that we go away and build on that. We are right in the mix again, it’s important we back that up and that’s a credit to the staff and the players."

that one quote sounds like he's fed up of taking everyone's flack for decisions being made!

I'm impressed
The man standing up for himself
We can all shoot the messenger. That's easy.
The guy, while not Guardiola, is working in a shambles.
Stand your ground Mr Slade, you may earn some respect

Thats exactly how I see it.
Also a while back a reporter told me that Slade had said the pressure at our club was the worst he had ever been involved in at a football club and he was not just on about managing City.

Has he seen the light on the road to Damascus aka Wolves ?
We will find out next Saturday

The one thing that was different yesterday was the formation. Hopefully lesson learnt our best players struggle in a 442

We played 4-4-2 yesterday. Pilkington played up front with Mason, and it was a masterstroke!

It was not 4 4 2 rigid
Looked more like 4 4 1 1 to me
I did a thread many weeks ago about formations and which players would be picked for three different formations and most picked the same players for each formation
On paper it is different to how the players actually play ,yesterday's team could even be interpreted as a 4 3 3
Whitts ralls and okeef in the middle and noone Mason and pilks as three up front
But I saw it as a 4411 some said they thought it was 451
What I do know is we played very well won three one and slade ,s selection changes worked

Can't fault Slade's comments here the real problem is Tan.

That comment is going to go down well with his superiors

It's about time he stood up for himself.
He has been a yes man for far too long.

Russel Slade inherited a complete shambles, and has done his job in very difficult circumstances. He makes a good point.

slade is saying what ive been saying for years. the board needs changing, we become a gravy train for our board members, while they play the pauper game, get shot of them we need a change at the top,
Sun Jan 17, 2016 10:29 pm
Well done Russ ties up with nukes exclusive
Sun Jan 17, 2016 10:35 pm
He's right.
And also us as fans need to start getting behind the team - supporting, rather than criticising everything and finding excuses not to turn up
Sun Jan 17, 2016 10:55 pm
Seems to me that he's talking about choo and dalman about the f**k up with the embargo

Thank you for your 'insider' information! Nice to see someone knows what the hell is really going on!
What we need to know from you now is what happens when they've gone?
Sun Jan 17, 2016 11:01 pm
Agree with Slade. The clubs hierarchy need to have a good look at themselves and also the players. Good win though yesterday.
Sun Jan 17, 2016 11:08 pm
a change, like to see some stats on how much these board members are putting in to the club, reality is they got there claws in the club and we, as a club are tied,
Sun Jan 17, 2016 11:38 pm
I'm not disagreeing with his point, but I personally see this comment as nothing more than an attempt to get the spotlight off himself. I knew he'd pull this shit as soon as the embargo came in, but I'd hoped he was bigger than it.
He's won one away game, trying a new formation for first time after MONTHS of begging from fans, and now everyone here thinks he's their bloody hero and the man to stand up against Tan. Can't make this stuff up!
