From reading between the lines I believe the reasoning of most fans is VT should turn his debt to equity leaving the club debt free. He can then inject new money to sign players.

However I'm not sure FFP allows the club to do that

It works when you have a multibillionaire owner that has a. Promised to turn the debt into equity and b. Promises for backing in each transfer window. So it's no wonder where people get the hope/illusion from is it?
