' LOST THE DRESSING ROOM ? '

After the performances against Shrewsbury and Hull, I really thought that Slade had lost the dressing room and was worried coming to Wolves expecting to be turned over and witness a heartless performance.

But how wrong was I.

That was not a display of a team that had given up on their manager.

It was spirited, the players worked their socks off and thoroughly deserved their win today.

Three excellent goals from Craig Noone and Joe Ralls.

Wolves looked a real threat up front with the pace and strength of the strikers and Peltier in particular was having a difficult time, though he did little wrong, our full back was done by pace.

I thought Stuart O'Keefe had an excellent game in the middle.

Joe Mason was excellent playing deeper behind Anthony Pilkington and his link up play and hold up play was immense.

Even though Noone will take the plaudits, and rightly so, for an excellent performance and two brilliant goals but Mason was man of the match for me today.

I am happy tonight and pleased for Russell Slade and after yesterday's news of a transfer embargo it looked as though the players united in the face of adversity and I just hope we can continue that desire between now and the end of the season and see where it takes us.

Cheers Carl :ayatollah:

Even though I couldn't make it today because of work, I still have no faith in Russell Slade.

But you have to give him credit for changing the tactics and getting the players in the right mind to win, after all that's happened in the last week.

It might be that the dressing room asked for the change of formation. Either that or Tan ordered it. Colonel 4-4- f*cking 2 sure didn't think of it..

Let's hope it continues next week and thereafter and not back to a defeat against Rotherham :ayatollah:

Choo just said that we are going for 3 loan players as our squad is only 21 for ffp rules

That's right Wez, as long as we don't go over 24 established players and each loan signing cannot be paid over £10k per week.

Why make such negative statements unless its fact then. The boo boys love the negativity. Truth is with such a Fickle fan base Slade is always 1 loss away to a crisis. He's doing a steady job considering the clubs circumstances. Dont want any big time charlie name managers thankyou !!!!!!

I think the loan player limit isn't 10k that's if you sign a freebie isn't it ? You can't offer a loan players club a loan fee and can't raise the players contracts but you can take on his present contract wages

Fair play, the whole team did well today (including Slade)
a special mention about Whitts, who played some lovely passes, expecially the one that almost had mason 1 on 1 with the keeper.

Travelling on the train back to Swindon one happy Bluebird! !

I was pleasently shocked today. The players showed pride in the shirt and thats all most fans ask for.
4-5-1 did the trick for me,whittingham looked a different player in this formation
We need momentum now, dropping points against Rotherham would put us back to square one :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Always does well after a break. He needs to be utilised correctly and that's not week in week out!

My point is made though!!!

The difference in the standard of performance between Wednesday at Hull and today at Wolves was like chalk and cheese.

Looked like a completely different set of players with an entirely different work ethic.

Certainly our best away performance of the season by some distance and close to being the best performance home or away also.

Was it just me or did the team seem to pop over more to the fans when scoring etc as though to show us we are here and still together. And all had a slap on back and hug off Russ at the end :ayatollah:

Good post carl, the players worked there socks off today and that's all we ask for from the team is to put a shift in. Today they did that and got the rewards although im glad there number 24 went off injured he was there biggest threat until then he skinned pelts for pace 3-4 times within the first 15mins, he was getting stuck in to him old school style in the 2nd half thank god :bluescarf:

One game doesn't change fook all Lads. Now if we go on a run of games like today where they show heart, togetherness, and Grit, along with an attacking attitude then we can say give Slade the benefit of the doubt. But I suspect the next game will be back to Slades boring brand of football. But let's see.

Think the performance was the main thing, galvanised maybe? Team needs to win a few games in a row, something that hasn't happened this season.....

He said in his interview the change was forced on him really with Watts injury. It worked out for the better though, he also said he was thinking of playing Pilks in the 10 role for a while.

Let's hope next Saturday will see similar tactics/formation with a positive result.

This ^^^^

As much as it was a welcomed break yesterday we need a few of these performances to show that the dressing room is not lost. When a team is in crisis a performance yesterday is the usual response. Lets see how they respond when the crisis dies off.

He said it in the right thread. The thread is about losing the dressing room is it not? Wrong poster perhaps, but he is entitled to make his point. I don't think he was having a go at you, just making the point that many on here seem to make statements about things they know little or nothing about. In the games leading up to Shrewsbury I thought we'd been playing quite well and the players were certainly trying their best. Even in the Shrewsbury game I don't think the players could be blamed for a lack of effort. We pummelled them but our strike force was inept. I didn't see the Hull game so can't say if the players were trying their best or not but I've certainly not seen any evidence that Slade has lost the dressing room. Some fans have a tendency to over react to a couple of bad results and jump to all sorts of conclusions.
