Any problems we are having are because of not being red

Fri Jan 15, 2016 11:45 pm

Right or wrong it's true and Tan told us it would happen if no rebrand.

I'm not saying it's a good thing. I'm not saying I agree with Tan but the 100 million was dependant on red. As we are blue there's no investment anymore. We are only where we are when he took us over which is in debt beyond our means with a transfer embargo.

The circus has been on since Black Friday and possibly before. The only time it stopped was for two years winning the championship.

I'm confused because apparently we will show a profit for the period yet still have a transfer ban.

Not quite sure what your point is ?

Running a football club like he has is the quick way to the poor house, however rich you are you don't want to lose money.

Buying into the rebrand or not, we were always going to lose fans when we were relegated. We all bought into Ole, never a negative chant or protest, but he was such a disaster we should have formed a Disasters Emergency Committee and get a washed up actor to front it. THIS WAS TAN AND HIS TEAMS CHOICE, not the fans.

If we were all brain washed to love the red, we would still be in this position......Its the footballing business decisions that has caused this, not the fans. :sladeout:

The truth of the matter is that any problems we are having are because an inexpt and inexperienced management team is at the helm, just like a long list of those before it. The differences now are twofold: one, this team has serious money behind it and two, the FFP rules have been implemented during its tenure.

With hindsight the appointment of Ole was a serious mistake but so was the apparent reckless allowance for him to spend much more money on players than we could reasonably afford. The carrot must have been to achieve a quick return to the riches of the Premiership. However, that is never guaranteed and, in our case, didnt materialise in large part because no coherent footballing structure was implemented at the club and no one with the requisite knowledge of football was installed who would have ensured a better managerial appointment other thsn Ole would have been made. Also, any business properly managed has to make contingency plans to manage alternative circumstances and it seems to me no one, least of all Tan, had the wherewithall to plan for the circumstance of failure to become promoted and the huge effect that would inevitably have on gate receipts, television revenue etcetera.

A very big indictment of the failings of the hierarchy might well be evidencrd by the suspicion that contracts were not negotiated sufficiently well so as to provide for the possible effect to of the club falling into reduced circumstances, and also the vexed question of us probably far more in Agent's Fees than should ever have been the case, and which strikes of being over extravagant without a heed to sensible club management.Everything suggests bumbling, ineffective management driven more by a gambling instinct rather than any semblance of prudent, steady stewardship, building for a sound and prosperous future.

I could go on with the failure to implement the foundations for an effective youth dvelopment policy, which would have been a crucial cornerstone for our future financial and sporting success. And this is all before we even touch on attempting to analyse the questionable benefits of having an eccentric, mercurial and idiosyncratic owner such as Tan, guiding our fortunes. I'm sure someone in the future will write a book revealing even facts far weirder than we already know about his strange world.

I dont think we would have been any better off today even if we had humbly followed his red regime with alacrity and allowed him full rein to implement his masterplan. The likelihood is that we would have been in an even bigger mess because of his and his team's shortcomings and the likely disappointing outcome of his fanciful idea of selling lots of red Cardiff City merchsndise in South East Asia would have sent him scuttling off to find some other poor benighted project.

My point is if no rebrand Tan said he would seek alternative investment. It appears he is heading that way and is no longer subsidising us to the extent he was before.

We were relegated in red and we were in a lower position to what we are now when converted back to blue.

Neil, Tan got his Rebrand and had it for nearly 2 years, he did not do the equity as promised, which was promised to happen with in months.

We failed in the Prem.

Tan failed on his Rebrand and Rightly so. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:
