With just one win over the Christmas period, the Bluebirds find themselves slipping away from the play-off race as they're placed under a transfer embargo



Russell Slade has been told he has three games to save his job at Cardiff City – with chairman Mehmet Dalman admitting “the jury’s out” on the under-fire Bluebirds boss.

In a frank appraisal of his manager, Dalman has refused to disguise his disappointment at recent results and performances and claiming that Slade “knows the score” in terms of the pressure building on his shoulders.

It is understood that it could mean that Slade will face the axe at Cardiff City Stadium should he not deliver an immediate turn around in fortunes.

Cardiff take on Wolves on Saturday afternoon before games with Rotherham and Huddersfield with owner Vincent Tan beginning to doubt whether the manager he has previously stood by should continue in the role.


And now chairman Dalman has admitted that more should be expected from the current crop of players having seen the slide slip away from play-off contention, claiming: “Yes, he’s our manager, he has been here for a while and of course his position comes under scrutiny because it always has done.

"To say it never has been would not be true. He’s aware of the pressures, he’s a big boy who’s done this job before and he knows what he has to do.

“I’m disappointed in the results, I’m disappointed in some of the performances – I can’t hide my disappointment at that and I don’t think you can criticise me for saying that.

“I can’t speak for the board because we haven’t met, but speaking for myself the jury’s out as it is on every single one of us every time we have to deliver something. Russell knows the score, I have very good dialogue with him, I talk to him on a regular basis, he knows what’s ahead.

Bit strange to say this publically if he hasn't spoken to the board. Tan may be content with Slade's performance but Dalman not? Would be a weird atmosphere if the Chairman was not on terms with the manager. So what can we believe?

I think behind the scenes the club are trying to get our new manager slade is a dead man walking ,I think our squad is good enough just needs a decent fresh manager to get the best out of them

Hopefully Tan will see the truth soon.

But no point appointing a replacement until the end of the season now, as nobody will come here without being able to bring in players.

Where is the fucking-leadership from the top? Where is the expertise? Where is the fan-engagement? Where is the passion?

Given our circumstances with VT's finances and apparent 'football business' ambition as owner, it should be a very different situation to what we are in now.

They say the table doesn't lie. Nor will the season ticket sales next month. And it truly pains me to say it.

If it was any other business, heads (including the owners) would be getting knocked together in emergency meetings to finally sort it out before it sorts itself out.

We know Dalman doesn't like Slade.

Hopefully Tan will see the truth soon.

Annis with all due respect, who the hell is Dalman to say that the jury is out on Slade. What a load of bollox, the club and Dalman knew about the transfer embargo before today. The fans (opps sorry customers) will just accept this as the reason we can't buy any players and we just sack Slade and everything will be ok because the fans are thick as shit.
In my opinion at the next home game all fans need to voice their opinions. The press and Malaysian press need to be notified that there will be a demonstration against Tan, Dalman, Choo and any other money grabbing b*stard who has used City as a cash cow but supporting Slade and the team who are just pawns in this whole soap opera.

If these are accurate quotes from Dalman, then Slade is absolutely gone very soon. You don't make comments like this unless time is up.

Giving Slade until after the Rotherham game would be a mistake though. If he's going to go, do it after tomorrows match, and get a good atmosphere going at CCS next Saturday. Trust me, the way things are going, the atmosphere is going to be abysmal next Saturday, and I don't think the club should just be accepting that. Get Slade out, try and get the new manager in, and see how the players and fans respond as a result.

The team has stopped playing for Slade just sack him now on the spot and not waste these 2 games.

Lets get something straight, there isn't going to be a new manager. There aren't going to be any new players. Tan has decided Slade has done everything he has asked of him. Dalman and Choo do whatever Tan tells them to do. If you don't get that part don't bother to read the rest. The Ownership and management have completly deceived the fans (sorry apologies, customers) of Cardiff City.
