SKY NEWS
BREAKING: Cardiff placed under transfer embargo for remainder of transfer window for breaching financial fair play

Cardiff City Football Club can confirm that it has been made subject to an FFP embargo during the January 2016 transfer window.

16th Jan 2016

Whilst extremely disappointed that the Football League has decided to take this action, we will remain co-operative and compliant with the League’s position in respect of Financial Fair Play.

Having fully disclosed all matters in respect of our FFP position for 2014/15 and having taken independent expert advice, it is our firmly-held view that Cardiff City Football Club has indeed complied with the FFP requirements for season 2014/15 - contrary to the League’s position.

As such, further advice will be sought, prior to a decision being made internally as to whether or not an appeal will be lodged.

The embargo, now in place (albeit subject to possible appeal), will stay in effect for the remainder of the January 2016 transfer window. Cardiff City Football Club again expects to trade within the set FFP limits for 2015/16 and therefore anticipates full participation in the summer 2016 transfer window

All a cunning plan to use as an excuse to not give Russell a penny as he can't be trusted.

Well played city!

The good news just keeps on coming with this club.

Appallingly run by idiots on and off the pitch.

No Tony Watt then - looks like we're stuck with Revell and Mason as our strikers.

Only at Cardiff!

Fans have already voiced their opinions on Slade signing players, so maybe be a good thing? Gutted about Watt though ;(

Wow. We are fucked if that's the case. Bye bye to any thoughts of the playoffs. Run by a bunch of idiots.

Slade said Tan was committed and things will come clearer over the next week or two. He knows f**k all. Idiot.

Not surprised whatsoever, club is a debacle from top to bottom.
Play offs wouldn't have happened regardless, this may save Slade any potential sacking though.

Well nothing surprises me.

Best time to get rid of RS and his staff now.

Get a decent Manager in who can look at the players until the next window.

What can happen next? Who's feet does this land at? Someone is responsible?

Season tickets for next season, you're having a laugh :digging2: :sladeout:

Madness.

This morning Slade is confident of a deal being done with Watt by the end of the day, with medicals etc, and now we're under an embargo.

Another normal day at CCFC!

Tan probably doesn't give a shit.

Love to see how this affects next year's season ticket sales mind.

This has also saved Slade's bacon and condemned us to the rest of the season with him in charge.

No other manager worthy of the name would want to touch us with a bargepole now.

Wasn't slade brought in to sort our financial side out such as getting rid of big earners so this problem wouldn't happen. Hasn't done a very good job there either has he???
Or is that me being to harsh on slade?
What ever it is the club is a joke on and off the pitch

On the face of it this is a disaster for our season but I wouldn't have given Slade another penny to spend any way. Watt is a good player but overpriced at £1m, especially as he has only scored 2 goals since he has been here.

If we can we should recall Doyle or Le Fondre and utilize some of our younger players who haven't had a chance.

Slade needs to go asap otherwise season ticket sales are going to collapse.

I still believe that with a good manager our squad is capable of a top 6 finish. :bluebird: :bluebird: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
