Warren Feeney: Newport County appoint new manager
BBC
15/01/15
Warren Feeney has been appointed as the new manager of League Two side Newport County.
Former Northern Ireland international Feeney, 34, was previously the Exiles' assistant manager and replaces former boss John Sheridan, who left to join Oldham Athletic on Wednesday.
He will be assisted by former Bolton and Blackburn defender Andy Todd, who he previously worked with at Linfield.
Newport are 20th in the table, three points above the relegation zone.
Former Linfield manager Feeney spent a large spell of his playing career at Bournemouth, before later playing for Cardiff and Swansea.
He now becomes County's fifth manager in less than 12 months.

Ian, Warren was suppose to take over this May as Sherridan was leaving then.
It has come sooner than he thought, but he's ready for it
Only prob is Newport are totally skint.

Congratulations and good luck to Warren Feeney
At least he'll be a bit moe 'loyal' than some recent managers over there and have Newport County FC's best interests at heart!

Might be Cardiff manager one day if he fairs well. Did well with Linfield and maybe County. Does this mean he might come back to our club for the younger players?

Still remember him for missing a glaring open goal versus Coventry at NP.
One of DJ's worst signings - up there with Glombard, Ferretti, Darlington, Mulryne, McCoy, Taiwo etc..........

That's the difference we don't have players about now to do that, run about all day, give there all. That's all we asked for back then was a shift out of the team no matter how shit we was. Now we can't even get half a shift out of some of the over paid wrapped in cotton wool back peddling poofs.
