Wolves’ form has of course improved no end in recent weeks, but there are more than a few contenders for worst performance of the season.

And Cardiff away would certainly be in the running for that unwanted accolade.
Goals from Kenwyne Jones and Sammy Ameobi separated the sides on a rainy August evening in Wales, but that doesn’t begin to tell the story of an insipid Wolves performance, which saw them fail to muster a shot on target.
Unsurprisingly, Ethan Ebanks-Landell – who partnered Richard Stearman in the Wolves defence that day – has erased the game from his memory.
“I don’t remember it at all to be honest,” he told the Express & Star, tongue firmly in cheek. “It’s a distant memory. They’re a good team, powerful, the full-backs will get on.
“Scott Malone is one of them, he used to be here so we know a bit about him.”
Perhaps surprisingly, Jones – who tormented Wolves – will not face them tomorrow as he has been loaned to UAE club Al Jazira.
But whoever takes to the field for the opposition, Wolves and Ebanks-Landell will feel they can win having tasted victory in their last four league games on the trot.
Is confidence in the dressing room soaring? “I wouldn’t say soaring, I guess we’re just trying to keep our feet on the ground,” the defender said.
“We don’t want to get too high or too low.
“Even when we were losing I didn’t feel like we were too low, there was still good morale in the changing room.
“Results weren’t there but we always knew eventually we were going to get on a run and hopefully we can continue the run.”
Was that morale a key part of why they have transformed their fortunes recently? “Yeah definitely. A lot of the boys are through the academy so we’re all close knit off the pitch as well.
“It’s starting to click (at the back). The more you play together the more solid you get, the better you get to know each other the cohesion gets better.”
Tuesday night’s 3-2 win over Fulham saw Jackett adopt a more attacking approach.
Home debutant Michal Zyro scored twice, and Ebanks-Landell said the Pole said easily settled into the dressing room.
“I think we needed that,” the 23-year-old said of the Fulham win. “The gaffer changed the formation a little bit, put Rajiv and Zyro up top in a 4-4-2 and Fulham have scored the most goals in the league, so it was one of those where we’ve got to try and score more than them.
“Zyro’s settled in really well, getting on with all the boys, he’s picking up on the banter quite quickly, he’s doing all right.
“We don’t teach him any swear words though, we’re all Christians here.”
Ebanks-Landell has been a regular presence in the Wolves defence of late, and he’s enjoying being in the side.
