I got told it will be completed on Monday.

Tony Watt news hopefully 'by the end of the day'

Tony Watt’s arrival on a permanent basis looks imminent. Slade says there may be news later and encourages Watt to rediscover the impact he made early in his fledgling Bluebirds career.

On the transfer, Russell Slade says:

We are working on that. It’s in the hands of Chief Executive and chairman. There may be news later. They are dealing with it and we’ll see what happens hopefully by end of today.
There are a few hopes to go through to come here permanently. He needs a medical. He’s made a difference particularly in early games. He did exceptionally well for some one who’s not played so much at Charlton. He was positive. He needs to go again now. That’s the same for all of the players. We need a deep breath and to push on and increase performance levels. You’re talking inches.

Watt's loan deal expires tomorrow and the Bluebirds want to get a permanent deal done today

Cardiff City hope to complete the signing of Tony Watt today as the on loan striker's loan deal expires tomorrow.

Boss Russell Slade confirmed a deal is close for the frontman who has impressed since joining the club on a temporary deal in November.

Watt is available for tomorrow's clash with Wolves no matter what but the Bluebirds are desperate to firm up a £1m permanent deal in the coming hours.

"We are working in it and it is in the hands of the chairman and chief executive. they may be news later," Slade said this morning.

"They are dealing with it and hopefully it will be done by the end of the day. There are a few hoops to go through and he needs a medical.

"He's made a difference, particularly in the early games when he did exceptionally well for someone who hadn't played much at Charlton. He needs to go again now.

"It's he same for all the players. They need to take a deep breath and push on to increase performance levels."

Watt has been a permanent fixture in the Cardiff side since joining, scoring two goals and producing a series of eye-catching displays.

He fell out of favour at Charlton and is known to be keen to become a Bluebirds player.

There certainly was news later Russell!

Did he really not know about the impending embargo?

If not surely he must feel an absolute tw*t having been kept in the dark by his employers.

If he did know then he was spinning an absolute pile of shite when asked the question.

Either way he doesn't come out well.

If the club did hide it from him it makes you wonder who would want the job if we do sack him
