The Tigers barely broke sweat against Cardiff City
They barely got out of second gear yet still won at a canter

Hull City have 50 points from their 26 league games this season – a pretty impressive return by anyone's standards. But how many times have they really, really hit top gear and put a team to the sword? You could probably count the total on one hand.
That's not so much a dig at City as it is the quality of the Championship. There are some poor teams in this division and City will rarely have to be at their absolute best to pick up three points. The Tigers barely broke sweat against Cardiff, a team that sat ninth in the Championship before the start of play. They barely got out of second gear yet still won at a canter.
That is encouraging, of course, and suggests that there is still more to come. After a mixed bag of a December, momentum is slowly being rebuilt and you sense that City aren't far away from really putting a side to the sword. When taking into account the form of both sides, don't bet against that side being Charlton on Saturday.
