A forum for all things Cardiff City

It appears that Craig Bellamy is the fans favourite for the Cardiff City job, but it seems himself and a consortium have been in talks with Newport County. Any chance that we may miss out to our nearest rivals, in appointing Craig Bellamy.

That would be a good start for him see how he does then we can poach him.

He has been quoting saying he wants to "cut his tooth at management with Newport". In all honesty, wouldnt that be alot tougher than the Cardiff City job?

I think starting your manager career in League 2 is wise.

Feeney and Flynn will be Newport managers till the end of the season

My friend is a board member, and he said: "Flynn has coaching experience, and he is a Newport boy. He is apprehensive about the role, as if it goes wrong, it could relegate the club back into Non-League. We are having discussions with him".
Feeney has managed Linfield in NI Prem, so he is more than likely the major candidate. They spoke to Craig Bellamy back in June before appointing Terry Butcher, but have re-opened negotiations, and the other candidate is the ex-Luton boss.

Ex Luton boss was just recently appointed at Dagenham, a club he holds dear to his heart, no chance of him leaving

Love Bellars but I really think we need to be looking for a manger with far more experience.

the problem with all this slade hating is that people believe that anyone, even craig bellamy, would be an upgrade. bellamy wouldn't last 5 minutes as a manager in the modern game.

Warnock in with bellamy as assistant

We need someone with fire in their belly and a bit of passion.
As for experience, I don't see this as an issue. Bellamy has played at the top and managed by some great managers. You could class that as experience.
He would be perfect in the job with maybe an older head as an assistant.
He wouldnt take any shit from anyone including us fans.
Instead of like all other managers saying how great a crowd we are, he would be honest and call us shit haha

Why does experience mean anything ? Every manager started with none?
