SLADE ON HIS OWN

Wed Jan 13, 2016 9:45 pm

Just spoke to Annis and he said that Russell Slade walked over to the City fans at the end of the game and he stood there on his own for some time applauding the City fans.

The fans were ready to have a go at him but ended up clapping Slade.

I suppose they clapped the fact he made the effort to show his appreciation to those who travelled.

He must know now his time is up.

The first time he's done that, wouldn't even face the fans after the Shrewsbury game.

At least he had the balls to go over and clap.? Many players /management have bottled it

Seen that clap a few times recently, Malky  Ole  and now Russ

More respect for him doing that than not but time is up

Got to give him respect for that.

But maybe it was a goodbye, I think even he knows his time is up.

As much as I would like him replaced you have to give him some credit for that shame the players didn't do the same with him

Respect for that but he's out of his depth.sad to see because he's a good guy

If it does I will actually respect Slade more. Then he actually has the balls to do his own thing..

I feel sorry for him, but even I, who has always wanted him given a chance, think his time is up now.

It wasn't the result tonight, I wasn't expecting much, even Sunday's result I took on the chin.
It's just the complete lack of spark in the side, in both games there was nothing to get excited about.

He's got no chance of winning the supporters over now, even if he had before, the club feels like it's slowly sinking and we need something to grab onto.

I wanted to give him the rest of the season, but reluctantly think he's got to go now.

Definitely a goodbye wave.

What does this say about the players if they won't applaud but the manager will though?

Goodbye Russell thanks for the dire football, you almost killed my love for the game :sladeout: :sladeout:

He's done his best ,obviously not good enough. Players playing like cunts to out the manager is a disgrace. The modern footballer

I don’t know where all that kind of information comes from or what sources that is.
As far as I’m concerned, the dialogue with the chairman and chief executive is very good and we’re all wanting the same thing.

Big respect for Slade for doing that and always seemed a good, hardworking guy. Would have loved to see him succeed as unlike some I have no problem with not having a 'name' manager and it would have been great if an underdog like Slade could have taken us up. However, I think he has taken us as far as he can and we need a new face to give the fans and club a lift. Having said that not sure who could get a performance out of some of these overpaid, average players. The whole playing staff needs a clean sweep along with the management.

It's quite right that RS applauded our amazing fans who made the trip. All the the players and assistants to a man should also have done the same.

Some of our players are utter toolbags. No passion. No effort. The fault cant all lie with Slade. We arent even in the bottom half.

I reckon he will get the Newport job

I imagine that Saddles is presently busy in his sound-proof secret basement torturing his custom-made Russell Slade inflatable dummy whilst screaming obscenities.

Carl, I heard that Slade had near tears in the interview with media and he shook every City players hand at the end, he also seemed emotional at the end.

Strange???

He looked a doomed man v. Shrewsbury, but will Vinnie the Red admit defeat for a second time. He needs to consult his mam.

Very much how I feel.

Poor bloke never really had a chance because from day one he was seen as Tan's man and there was a huge lobby of the support wishing him to fail for that reason.

Problem is the next manager will have the same issue to deal with as there is definitely an element of our support has agenda which sees Cardiff City continually fail so that Vincent Tan will eventually up sticks and leave.

Question is how far do we have to fail before that happens? League One, Two, Non-League or Liquidation?

There is no point in letting him go now. I hope he stays and proves the doubters wrong.

And before you have a go at me, the important word there is "hope" and not "expect".
