I always thought their anthem was Jerusalem. Why cant our country get a proper anthem like everyone else Instead of some mawkish homage to some rich old woman who has always been coddled in the lap of luxury?

A boring outdated dirge of an anthem that will forever be as associated with England as it will be irrelevant to Wales and Scotland .

Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau is a superb anthem and the one the vast majority of us associate as our own.

Isn't Jerusalem equally a 'holy' place to Christians, Muslims and Jews?

At least it isn't a miserable dirge full of God, monarchs and kicking the Scots - like GSTQ. Apart from 'Jerusalem' other options (some used already by English sports teams) are: 'Land of Hope and Glory'; 'I Vow To Thee, My Country' and 'There'll Always Be an England'

I love the Scots anthem. Think I sang the anthem when we played em in a friendly about 5 years ago.

My fave is the Argies'. Compared to ours its like AC DC to Justin Beiber.
