Mystery surrounds Cardiff City’s rumoured signing of Bolton midfielder Josh Vela.

Reports in Lancashire insist the cash-strapped Trotters have accepted a £500,000 bid for the 22-year-old from the Bluebirds, but sources at the Welsh capital club have said that is not the case.

Indeed, Cardiff insist they are not interested in adding Vela to their squad in the January transfer window, let alone making a bid for the player.

Earlier this week, Heracles chairman Jan Smit confirmed that the club had accepted a bid from the English Championship side Cardiff City, but the player has now rejected the move.

AD are reporting that the lack of action from Cardiff City and the duration of negotiations are behind Weghorst’s decision to say no to a move to Wales.

The rejection doesn’t mean the 23-year-old will remain in Almelo though, with Scottish side Celtic also reportedly interested.
First their chairman says a deal is agreed, just personal terms to be sorted.

Then the player says Slade wants him but it is down to Tan.

Our club deny any interest in the player and no bid made.

The player gives City until next Monday to get the deal sorted.

' Josh Vela confusion '

The latest twist in the Josh Vela to Cardiff confusion.

Bolton now say they have NOT accepted a bid from Cardiff for the midfielder, which stacks up with what we were told yesterday.

There had been reports a fee had been agreed between the two clubs but boss Neil Lennon said after Vela played in last night’s loss to Sheffield Wednesday: “There’s nothing on that. A bid came in but it wasn’t accepted and that’s it.

“I spoke to Josh before the game. He said he hadn’t heard anything.”

I rem Dalman saying to me a couple of months ago that all we needed was a player with pace and that Idris Saddi that Ran brought in, fits that bill. Plus he was def not keen on Slade being allowed to bring many more players in.
