CITY FANS WANT CRAIG BELLAMY

Bring back Bellamy!' This is how Cardiff City fans reacted to news Russell Slade's future is in major doubt

Tuesday 12th Jan 2016

BY JON DOEL

After news Russell Slade is unlikely to remain as Cardiff City manager beyond this season, this is what the fans have been saying

Russell Slade is a man under pressure

Cardiff City boss Russell Slade appears to be facing a bleak future after we revealed Saturday's shock FA Cup defeat against Shrewsbury is being viewed as the beginning of the end by the club's hierachy.

Senior sources have revealed there is extreme disappointment at the dwindling crowds at Cardiff City Stadium this term with Slade’s style of football identified as one of the root causes.

While Vincent Tan has been a supporter of Slade until now, it is believed he is coming around to the argument that Slade is not the man to take the club forward. Indeed, it appears unlikely Slade will remain at the club beyond the end of this season.

After breaking the story, Cardiff City fans have been giving us their reaction.

Here's a flavour of what's been said.

' 87.5% WANT SLADE GONE NOW '

The fans' verdict
As much as I want Slade out I feel sorry for the poor guy. He seems a nice genuine guy but only a decent manager in the lower leagues. It's a real shame Tan didn't back him financially like he did with Malky and OGS. If he did we might not be in this situation - Ash Price.

Can't believe he's lasted this long. It was a poor decision to appoint him in the first place. Bring in Bellamy - Lee Covell

After seeing last night's performance the players have got a lot to answer. They had 26 shots and not one goal. They couldn't string four passes together. At least eight of last night's team should go with him. - Tony Flower

Get someone in who can get us playing exciting football and attract top quality players. Bellamy will do - Danny Donovan
I'm sorry but I was one of those who said we should give him a chance but now I think he should fall on his sword and go for the sake of our club - Haydn Robinson
In all of the "Slade Out" messages there's a distinct lack of any suggestions for a realistic replacement? - John Angle
He's not good enough at this level, let alone if were were ever to make the Premier League. He should never have been made our manager - Dave Griffiths

Russian roulette involves a loaded gun. You put the barrel to your own head with the audacity of the team you fielded against Shrewsbury. Picking Revell and Macheda up front with what you had available was tantamount to suicide. You cut your own throat, Slade. - Derek Griff

This is good news. I just hope he doesn't get replaced by another manager from a lower league - Mark Manley
We don't want nice managers, we want managers that can get the job done - Stevie Davies-Evans

I think the time for Slade to go has definately arrived. What I don't understand is how, since Slade arrived city fans have constantly said he has no experience at this level, and just isn't good enough.Yet those same fans want Bellamy in the post!! A great proffessional player but he has NO experience at ANY level, and for all we know may be a shit manager, something we certainly can't afford to have at this time. I'd love to have a hometown ex player like Bellamy in charge one day, preferably when he's cut his teeth somewhere else and has proved himself a bit.Doesn't make sense otherwise :? City fans???

It's now 5% - he's becoming more popular by the hour! Fan opinions should count for nothing or very little. It was fan opinion which eventually got rid of Pardew at Newcastle. Serves them right to be where they are now. Get rid of Slade - but what next? We are become a sacking club with no plan. If we can get Pep Guardiola in I'd get rid of Slade, but that is not guaranteed.

My reasoning to opt for someone like Bellers would be to give youth a chance ( not expect him to attract big names ) give him time to build a decent football ethos within the club and be patient with the guy as I believe Rome wasn't built in a day, unfortunately a lot of our supporters would go into meltdown if we encountered a ropey spell whilst in this sort of transitional period and would be frothing at the mouth calling for his head but hey ho that's the problem with football nowadays no time as too much money involved. Anyone who has read how Bellamy would approach the game must admit he got his head screwed on and would surely be attack minded and demanding of passion for putting our shirt on.
There are plenty of experienced managers not cutting the mustard out there so why is that such a given?
I think it's time for a new approach and a freshen up by someone who wouldn't be dictated too gotta be worth a punt and if it didn't work out then our boo boys could lather up their frothy little potty mouths and rant and rave and stomp their feet til they get their way hahaha

I really like Craig , But only one thing worries me that is Craig has no experience and he has been held in such esteem at this club. Should he not deliver what some expect , he will drop in there estimation, and I for one would hate that.

What I would like to see is, a top man brought in with Craig as his number two. I think that would be fair to club Fans and Craig.

So all of you who want Slade out want him to be replaced by Bellamy? A good job none of you own our club, you would quite happily take a massive gamble employing a man with no managerial experience which could drastically backfire. It's not a move a club in our financial position can afford to make. You lot amaze me!

Wouldn't want Bellamy, don't think he would be any better than Slade I'm afraid. If anything less experienced. Go for Warnock :bluebird:

Amazing!!!! We moan about Slade's style of footie and then would choose Warnock (well past his sell by date) as his successor. You could not make it up - unbelievable.

:sladein: based on how many voting tho, I've changed my opinion of Slade in a way he's done the job he's been brought into do, and tbh. I'm surprised why City fans wouldn't back him now and get behind him now, I would prefer him over Ole who imo go's down as the worst manager I have ever seen at City, I feel a bit sorry for Slade in a way he was brought into do a job and wasn't really favourable by city supporters :sladein: till the end of the season. :bluebird: :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Slade out no experience at this level of football should never of been appointed by tan.
.I tell you what lets go get Craig bellamy who has no managerial experience at all at any level.
Just doesn't make sense to me.

For me as much Craig would bring passion and desire back his appointment would be a massive gamble at a time where we need a tried and tested manager at this level just to steady the ship .
I say let Craig go learn his trade elsewhere if he does well then in the future bring him in until then he's nothing other than a gamble just like ole slade and now bellamy.
