I have spoken to someone who has previously worked under Slade and he claims that he's the hardest working and most dedicated boss he's ever worked for.He said that he works tirelessly and for long hours for the club he manages and is well respected by everyone because of his efforts and knowledge of the game.
He was brought into our club by Tan because of his knowledge of players in the lower leagues because there would not be the money available to him to buy premiership standard players. Unfortunately he has not had the opportunity to spend crazy money on players like Malky, so he's done the best he could with limited resources.I'm sure if he was given the money to spend on quality players he surely would have and this would have had a positive impact on our team's performances.
So give the man a break and if you feel the need to point the finger at someone for the mess our club is in then Tan's the man.

There are more problems than that though he has no plan b he has had the chance to bring in some lower league players and they have been crap he may be hard working but just not good enough in the Championship for a club like us anyway he is getting sacked in the morning night night.

I don't doubt what you are saying for a second, I actually think Russell Slade could be a good manager for us if we was given the support of the board and the way they have treated him is unacceptable. My only ever criticism of Slade is he doesn't use the younger/academy players enough its like he's got no faith in them and that is contributing to the negative atmosphere around the team because in all Cardiff teams you look to there was always young players breaking through to the first team except for this one and questions need to be asked why? If the board is prepared to waste a transfer window because they have no faith in Slade transfer dealings or they have no plans on keeping for next season then they should sack him now, we are only 4 points off the playoffs and there is no need to throw away another transfer window which could lead to another wasted season due to a lack of ambition. We don't need to spend millions upon millions this transfer window we just need to make signings with a bit of foresight into the future and ones who are not just stopgaps who will be offloaded in the summer.

Can work as hard as he likes but the main problem is that he has no plan B and that his football is rubbish. Refuses to play our brightest spark from last season, Matty Kennedy, even though by his own admission he wants a creative and pacey winger? Logic in that? He also refuses to change the team when playrs are cleary not playing well (Plan B system)... If we was a poor Championship side who'd been struggling for a few years then he'd be a great coup for us but we aren't we're team who have consistently got top 6 and have a lot of experienced pro's. It would be best for all parties if he was to go ino

Slade started with a good and big squad, of experienced Premier and Championship players.
His signings of lower league players (is it 15??) have been useless. He has spent maybe £1.5M
Malky started with 10 players and built a team spending 3m? That easily won the league.
Gunnarsson and Turner £1m from Coventry, Campbell £600K form Sunderland (sold for approx £1m), Mutch £1m from Birmingham (sold for £6m), Gestede free (sold for £300K). Miller not sure of his deals?
Many of his other signings were free.
Slade has had plenty of opportunity but is not up to the job. He may be hard working and a nice person, but this is a professional workplace where results count, not the local council or civil service.

Not forgetting of course the £8m that Malky paid for that world class striker Andreas Cornelius and the £11m he paid for Gary Medel who were both sold on for just a fraction of the price that was paid for them.

No one is doubting his commitment, it's just he is simply out of his depth at this level and needs to be replaced by a more experienced manager at Championship level

The way the fanbase have treated him is poor. I bet the guy is scared to leave his house. Hope he carries on to end of season. If its VT you want out then do a protest and dont by season tickets. However,I think we are cutting our cloth accordingly

I think people have given him every chance and I seem to recall many people on here stating that they "hope" he proves us wrong, so there is respect for the man himself. I also believe there is a certain respect for the job he has done under current circumstances
However, in recent months we have continually failed to get results when apparently 'cruising' games, we have played a one-dimensional style that has no 'Plan B' to talk of; we have capitulated in too many games because opposition managers have 'sussed' out our strengths and nullified us in the second half; we have discarded some pretty good players (Kennedy's appearance on Sunday being just one case in point); and we have a very poor buying record with only one or two Slade signings actually playing for the First Team on any regular basis
Nice guy or not, we need a new manager (and coaches) to provide impetus for the second half of the season and (IMHO) if the only thing we achieve is a positive style of play and some of our talented young players given a chance, then that will do for me! anything else I will consider a huge bonus!

Old school 442 is dead and we play it old school.
Leicester and Watford have caught teams out with their use of it, but they play it in a much more flexible, fluid and pacier way.
Russ has a 1980's playbook and that's it, the game has moved on and on and on since then. When i used to turn up at Poncanna and play district or Sunday morning football, we never played 4231 or 433 dropping back in defence to a 451, we played 442. I was always number 11 and played left midfield, so tackled and sent in diagonals to a big fella up front with a second man around him.
Malky was class. Knew this division inside out and won promotion in a canter at the second go. He played a 451 but got mercilessly exposed at the next level. Slade hasn't even got the same credential from league one as Malky did, but has also got exposed. Marshall, Fabio, Manga, Pilkington,Noone, Dikgacoi, Gunnar, Whitts, Jones, ALF and we can now add Ralls are top end championship players, we should be in the mix with that quality. He has added nothing

What manager is going to come to us on a meagre managers wage with no money to spend and cost cut further.
Our fans need to get in the real world.
Gone are the days of spending and with our poor crowds, its going to get worse.
