Just heard on the radio city are to relay the pitch before the end of the season.
Good news as its terrible can anyone see the quality of football improving though.

Once talked to a golf course green keeper about this subject. Relaying of a football pitch needs a full summer to mature. Well that talk was over 30 years ago so perhaps things have changed a bit.

I think Carlisle started relaying theirs today, so we probably could do ours this season.

Unless there has been some announcement today that story comes from Russell Slade's post-match interview yesterday.
He was asked about what it was like to play in front of a small angry crowd and decided to talk about the pitch instead.
All he claimed was that there 'is dialogue' about the possibility of relaying the pitch before the end of the season, and agreed with a reporter who said that it would be good if it was done before Wales' friendly in March. However, he stressed that it would be a financial decision - whereas the decision not to relay the pitch last summer was supposedly because there wasn't time with to do it around the Wales matches - and there hasn't been a decision either way yet. Someone suggested that the FAW might agree to part fund the work and he laughed - so at least there is something we can all agree on!

I didn't think modern pitches need relaying....when I was working on new stand grounds an told me that grass is fed with huge amounts of growth fertiliser and some days grass needed cutting twice.....so I don't see pitch being relaid.....

Carisles pitch would be ruined and contaminated with sewage after flooding.....so probably more a health issue
