Sorry but Whitts is done

Sun Jan 10, 2016 8:32 pm

He had a chance to shine, pitch was poor so long accurate passes was right up his street.....yet nothing....a poor performance from the whole team, but this was a chance to get back in starting 11.. :ayatollah:

Your right, he was garbage and his lack of effort when we didn't have the ball was pitiful.
Plenty of others hopeless too- and when you think that lot on the pitch today collectively earn probably not far off £10m a year it makes you sick.

Time to clear the decks

Agree, he was not effective at all tonight and looked shot to bits.

Agree Whitts is finished.

When the pitch didn't stop any attacking forward momentum, he did.
Slowed everything down and passed sideways or backwards.
Game killer.

He`s a shadow of the player we all loved .... i just wish we`d move him on now and look else where. He`s finished.

Sadly he has had his better days

About the only time we looked like doing anything was when he went into CM after 1-0 down and after they put ten behind the ball. When all he has around him is Ameobi, Macheda, Okeefe and Revell are you going to blame him for not making them look like World beaters?

I think the one myth that has been well and truly debunked with this match is that we've got strength in depth. Yes Whittingham might have been awful tonight but in all honesty so was everyone else (with the possible exception of Moore) we got a piss poor manager but in truth, apart from a small core of players we've got a pretty average squad too.

I don't think you had to be world beaters..... It was Shrewsbury we played not Barcelona..... :ayatollah:

So by your standard every other player on that team is done? Or are you singling out Whitts because hes this years go to guy to take the blame like McPhail, Bothroyd, Hudson and so on?

What a load of shit. If the pass was on he made it, if it wasnt on he kept posession. What do you want him to do just kick it anywhere?!?!. When he went in the middle we finally had someone spreading the ball out wide to Noone / Kennedy / Ameobi. He was the only one comfortable on that farmyard of a pitch.

And Shrewsbury is about Revell and O Keefes standard.

Absolute rubbish, he is going to pass sideways and back when no player on that pitch last night was running into forward positions that he could play the ball too, yes Whitts is the fall guy this season, it amazes me that some people know nothing about football, Tamas last night won every header, done a lot more than Morrison ever does, but there, he is a Slade signing so lets all have a go, I am not a Slade fan as you can see by many of my previous posts and I think he should go, he has no idea, I mean, Fabio goes off injured so he plays Kennedy at right back, who really was the only positive from last night. Why on earth did he not bring on Oshilaga and put Tamas at right back or just bring on John, Kennedy was making things happen up front, Slade is clueless.

Agree with most of your post apart from Tamas, i thought he was very slow and didn't look interested, (mind that could be said for most of our players last night) and as for the goal, well that was a school boy error from Tamas ball watching instead of staying with his man.

Re: Sorry but Whitts is done

Mon Jan 11, 2016 9:49 am

Sorry but I put the goal slightly down to Malone not covering his man, but mostly down to Moore, standing on his line like a statue, should have come for the ball, inside the six yard box, absolutely nothing to stop him, as for Tamas not played much football what does anyone expect?

The only sensible post on a ridiculous thread. It's a shame the rest on here don't understand the game as you do Polo. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

yes!!! Exactly how I seen it as well mate! Thought tamas played real well except for one or two mistakes which is acceptable as its his first game for us and if we were set up right formation tactics etc we would rip this league.i just don't get how some fans doesn't see it

I have come to the conclusion these posts are cultural. It depends on your view how football or we should play.

If you want players running around like lunatics always being a second or two too late and want to get the ball forward really quickly and play into a zone, then player like Whitts are not for you. If you want to own the ball, cause overloads or space and have the patience then he is your man. I loved watching McPhail but the abuse he was given was almost as ridiculous as Whitts.

The criticism is his style of play. It doesn’t fit into a standard 442, but neither do half our players, well not in the championship. Watching O’keefe & Revell yesterday was what some of the boo boys want. Loads of effort “for the shirt” but sadly little ability.

Funny thing for me. We played with a goalie I have absolutely no faith in. (check the number of wins when he starts), a centre half who hasn’t started a game in years and left a week ago, a defensive central midfielder who hasn’t started for months and takes months to get fit, the other one has never started to my knowledge, a lazy when fit striker that hasn’t played more than 15 mins all season, the other striker who went to find his form and couldn’t score in league 1 so came back, a 433 forward who repeatedly shows he can’t play wide midfield in a 442, but the boo boys single out one player, who hasn’t played that position for 4 season’s probably more as DJ played him on the right.

I'll agree to disagree
