"Worst performance in years"

Sun Jan 10, 2016 8:06 pm

I came into this one thinking it would be a certain City win. Shrewsbury had lost 7-1 on the weekend and with the strong side Slade picked, it looked a home win for sure.

For large parts of the game City dominated without creating anything, no penetration whatsoever. Shrewsbury were always dangerous on the break and should of had more goals than just the one in the end.

Poor marking led to their goal, a simple header from a good cross. Somehow a League 2 striker slipped in between Manga (our best centre half) and Tamas to score.

City were restricted to long shots which went sailing over as always, and even when they did get in behind they couldn't finish their chances.

Russell finally saw sense and put Keneddy on and he brightened the game up. Should defo start at Wolves.

Fair play to Shrewsbury, they deserved the win and fair play to their fans for making the journey. We were being awful and I know Skade's head will be called for after this performance. Tan has a choice to make IMO, if we don't sack him after a home defeat to a league 2 team, then fans may aswell stop moaning and back him.

There's no point defending Slade anymore James.

Beginning to get to that stage. Tan certainly has a decision to make.

Having supported Cardiff City for over 50 years, I certainly did not think a win was a foregone conclusion. That'll teach you.

The 4-0 loss to Hull in the Premier League was the one I always think of although second half vs Norwich last season runs that one close!

yes both bad, as was the defeat against sunderland.

the 3-0 defeat to boro, must be 4 or 5 seasons ago now... that one still rankles with me too

I'm going for the Brighton home game where we lost 2-0 and the majority of our fans bent over to receive their free red scarf
We've had some proper depressing games... The 3-0 loss away to Swansea in the Premiership is up there too!

Mason, I agree with you on this one. Players played for themselves today which is alarming. :(

Losing 3-0 at home to colchester in 2003 was pretty bad,i remember the stweards and police having to protect lennie Lawrence from the grandstand
