Anthony Gerrard wants revenge over Cardiff on Sunday after branding his final season with them 'a car crash'.
Gerrard returns with Shrewsbury in the FA Cup still troubled by his acrimonious exit.
He left in 2012 following a bust-up with then-manager Malky Mackay after being axed for the Carling Cup final. Gerrard came on as a substitute and missed the penalty in the shoot-out that gave Liverpool, and his cousin Steven, victory.

The defender spoke about the 'torture' when he played for the Welsh side a few years ago
'I got absolutely isolated there,' said Gerrard, 29. 'I was dragged in at 7.30am on my own when the other lads weren't in until 9.30. It happens. People just think 'he plays football on a Saturday'.
'But they don't know what goes on during the week and the mental torture your family is put through, having to drive up and down the motorway before the final to see your son in hospital, when you've got a manager who doesn't even ask how he is.'

I've heard different stories about Gerrard, interesting that he continues to deny the truth.

What is the truth?
Probably the opposite to what Gerrard is saying.

He said on his Twitter he knew who Liverpool were appointing as the new manager and he was completely surprised as it was "so far left field", then they appointed Klopp who was the favourite all along! He talks total bollocks!

So many people on here think they're in the know. So let's see.... What is the real truth behind Gerrard leaving?

Obviously there will be harsh replies because the Malky gang will defend him.

Even after all this time he still can't accept that Turner and Hudson were picked over him BECAUSE THEY ARE BETTER PLAYERS

Exactly. A manager can only pick 11 players. He can go on about the manager all he likes but I'm sure anyone in football would pick Hudson and turner above him it's a no brainer. Unfortunately being a player sometimes you aren't picked for games At any age group and level. You might not like it but the more mature people such it up and try harder to prove the manager wrong not sulk.

I know my heart bleeds for him, pure torture training from 7.30 having lunch and going home. As already posted watt will run him ragged if selected.

Doesn't surprise me. Been told that off camera Malky was very different to his well trained public personality.
Horrible c**t

Not that it means anything but can back this up, Malky had his own little room in the stadium where he would prepare himself 15 minutes before the post match conference. Would also use it to watch video technology
