Garbage for us with a terrible attitude and high wages, more than happy with our centre backs. Won't forget his goal at Everton though

Slade doesn't know real talent.

Thought he was good for us, felt he was one who actually gave his all. Far to classy for Slade, an ole type player.

Apart from Suarez tearing him a new one, I thought he was OK in the Prem. In the Championship, it was obvious he didn't want to be here and his attitude stunk. His performance against Bournemouth in the League Cup was a disgrace. I'm not a Slade fan, but he was right to get rid of Cala.

Had a lot of time for Cala.

He may have been average really for us, but he was passionate. Met him a couple of times and he was great.

Say what you like about Solskjaer, but he knew talent - Cala, Fabio and Guerra in particular (although 50/50 with Guerra, may have been Tan's signing but I'm told after Ole showed an interest).

Who impressed you in that game tho?
Maybe down to no young instructions that day?

We let Cala go because although he had an enthusiastic attitude, he couldn't defend and made too many mistakes, such as his sending off away to Sunderland which sent us down.

I watched Cala against Sporting Gijon, he equalised in the second half and Getafe went on to win 2-1. Cala was very good at popping up with the odd goal in fairness.

Gijon's first goal however, their goal scorer did a bit of movement to lose Cala and Cala didn't have a clue where he was. Just like with Cardiff, Cala ball watched, lost his man and Gijon scored!

We don't miss him. There's a lot of similarities between Cala and Sean Morrison actually. Both can pop up with the odd goal but both undo their goals by making several defensive blunders at the other end to cost us.

Oh, and both were Ole's signings.

Proved that time and time again. But giving it away for free? Now two of them play regular in la liga..

Agree though, prone to a few mistakes like all of our defenders. Don't forget Turner and Connolly mate.

Or Slade was doing exactly what he was brought in for and dumping wages.

It was Cala who lost the goal scorer. Harsh to blame him mind as the winger was clean through and very clever movement by the striker though.
