Walsall reject Tom Bradshaw bid
08/01/16
Walsall have rejected a bid from a Sky Bet Championship side for striker Tom Bradshaw.
The Saddlers do not want to sell their 12-goal top scorer but face a fight to keep him this month.
Press Association Sport understands they have dismissed an offer from the unnamed club but are braced for a further approach over the weekend.

Interesting Wez.

Is he any good ?

A free scoring welsh striker would be happy with this.

Just clicked he's the young player for Wales impressed against the Dutch

looks like it might of been us that had a 650000 bid turned down then.

Your thinking of Tom Lawrence, Wez.

Doubt its worth losing Harris over him

Wasn't Bradshaw the winger him and Lawrence played ?

My dad is a Shrewsbury fan and Bradshaw used to play for them.
Said he came close to being released by them, but suddenly became a great all-round player for them in League Two and obviously carried it on in League One.
He's been in the Wales squad a couple of time and is a striker.

Sounds like he's injury prone so should fit in well

This would be a much better signing than the other players we've been linked with

I disagree. Don't get me wrong, I personally do rate Harris and I'd like to see him get in or around the first team but that just hasn't materialised sadly. We need a new striker and signing a Welsh international striker who is scoring a few goals would be a cracking idea
He's only 23 too!

Could be right, I'd like that to be the case, however I think Harris could still do a good job for us. Look at how our recent Welsh players got on with us
Ledley
Matthews
John (although I would prefer him over Malone)
Blake
Gunter
Just think that Harris should at least be given a chance before this deal goes through

I have watched Bradshaw play a few times for Shrewsbury, he was very young at the time. He has very good movement, a fantastic first touch and he is very inventive. He was real crowd pleaser at the Green house meadow, the fans loved him but he was lightweight and injury prone.
Since he moved to Wlasall, he has developed physically and is definitely stronger. He also has a vey good goal scoring record in league one. He is very direct and very clinical. He has a checkered record with Wales, I think he refused to turn up for an under 21 game and was out of the picture for a considerable time, I think that misdemeanour has been forgiven by Coleman.
Think he was born in England but raised in the pearl of West Wales Aberystwyth.

Would at least give the crowd a connection with someone they can get behind something lacking lately at Cardiff, would also like to get Tom Lawrence in on loan if not permanent I think his loan at Blackburn is up end of Jan

Bradshaw was left on the bench for Dutch game. Pity as it would've been chance for him to show what he's made of.
I've seen him play more than a few times for Walsall and he can play up front on his own but is even better with Romaine Sawyers behind him. Sawyers also had a good eye for goal too and anyone with sense would bid for the pair.
Whether or not they are championship material is unproven but I reckon Tom is ready to step up. Sawyers too.
We couldn't go far wrong in signing either or both.
Bradshaw has had his fair share of injuries, less at Walsall than when he was at Shrews and seems to recover pretty quick.whether Walsall will let him go or not I can't say as they're on a promotion push right now and to lose him could be disastrous for them.
But on the whole Bradshaw could be a bargain and be what City are lacking right now.
And to be fair Annis you know I've been saying we should sign him since last season!

Tom Bradshaw was an unused sub

Just watched all his goals from last seasons league 1 on youtube. Looks like he got pace and can score goals with his head too,but most importantly he looks a very good finisher. I think he would want the move progress his career and do wonders for his international career being at cardiff city.
Is he a target man type or are we going for him as a cheaper option than tony watt do you think?
Sign him up i say.

He was brought up and educated in Tywyn, south Gwynedd. Played junior football in local leagues before the family moved to Shrewsbury.

He only played 4 games for Aberystwyth before Shrewsbury snapped him up, then I think I remember seeing him score a brace for Shrewsbury on his debut. Back then I thought that's a young Welsh striker to keep an eye on and he's just got better and better.
26 goals in 50 appearances for Walsall, Bradshaw is a natural goal scorer who is lethal on the deck and in the air, as this video shows:
