Yes because he is a 442 winger always liked him and we give them Pilkington. :ayatollah:

I think out of all the players that we let go, we should have kept Conway and Gestede, always liked them pair! :bluebird:

Always done well for Cardiff , and contracted to Blackburn until 2018 ,
30 years old now and still could do a job for us short term
I don't think it will happen unless Conway is part of a deal involving Pilkington + money
Cost cutting is ongoing

Could it be a straight swap or do you reckon it could benmoney and player?

Straight swap.

Because of the age of both players, I would be demanding half a million for Pilkington plus Conway in exchange.

I would be delighted to have Conway back, it was a massive mistake from Malky to let him go.

I think that would be a bit too much just a straight swap.

Pilkington is still only 27, he's entering his prime years and to not demand any money for him in exchange for a 30 year old would be madness imo.

Would love to see him back. One of the many players that was let go that shouldn't have been. Just like SuperKev and Huds. Still waiting for a date for Kev's testamonial only so that we can give the wives a bit of notice just in case the decorators are in. Kev hated the red.

We swapped Odemwingie who is 3 years older than Jones and no fee was involved it shouldn't be different with this one.

That was different, Stoke wanted rid of Jones and both players had their best years behind them.

Pilkington is 27, he has 3 of his best seasons ahead of him compared to a 30 year old Conway who will slowly begin to decline.

Conway would offer us so much for the remainder of this season which is why I would love to have him back, but I will be very disappointed if we don't receive some sort of fee for Pilkington if a swap does take place. We should really insist on a player plus cash swap.

Even with Conways age and I think it evens out as Pilkington is injury prone so demanding a fee aswell might be demanding a bit too much I feel.

Conway may get injured more than Pilkington in the future, especially now he's hit his 30's. We will agree to disagree.

I don't disagree with that, but when players hit their latter years and try to maintain their fitness and performance, sometimes their bodies can't keep it going.

At the end of the day, a transfer fee is paid because of a players ability and potential. Pilkington has plenty of ability and has a good few years ahead of him to offer a lot, particularly if he stays injury free.

Re: CRAIG CONWAY

Fri Jan 08, 2016 12:25 am

I suppose but tbh I would just swap Pilkington for Conway just like that he is a winger that would work in Slade's system and Conway i feel has got some years left in him aswell so a straight swap would be fair in my opinion.

Re: CRAIG CONWAY

Fri Jan 08, 2016 5:20 am

I'd rather keep Pilkington personally

Re: CRAIG CONWAY

CC is by a mile a better player IMO. Swap anyday of the week for me.

Re: ' CRAIG CONWAY TO RETURN? '

Fri Jan 08, 2016 8:59 am

No definitely not, like Pilkington and Noone can't go past a full back, always coming inside, the one thing we are crying out for is pace.

Re: ' CRAIG CONWAY TO RETURN? '

Fri Jan 08, 2016 9:25 am

No thanks he's a crap ,rubbish against us last match noone and pilks much better

Re: ' CRAIG CONWAY TO RETURN? '

Fri Jan 08, 2016 9:26 am

I'd love to see Conway back. Always gave 100% and is one of the best crossers of the ball in the championship and we are crying out for someone who can consistently do that. Would also fit Slades system perfectly.

A really nice guy too, who loved his time at Cardiff.

Re: ' CRAIG CONWAY TO RETURN? '

Fri Jan 08, 2016 9:33 am

I like Conway for his work ethic but I think Pilkington is a better player and is more likely to chip in with goals.

Re: ' CRAIG CONWAY TO RETURN? '

Fri Jan 08, 2016 10:01 am

Problem is that conway and pilkington are too slow so to accommodate either of them we would need to add some pace to the midfield elsewhere. Conway is certainly a much better crosser of the ball than pilks but pilks is a little more creative and can chip in with goals.

Rather than re-sign Conway I would hope we would add add some pace and flair to the midfield.

I just can't believe what i have read this morning !!!

We allowed Jones who desperately needed a 442 winger to bing accurate crosses in to leave, then bring in one of the best crossers and workers in the championship after he has left.

I cant take any more of this madness.
