Sunderland sign Bayern Munich defender

Sunderland have signed Bayern Munich defender Jan Kirchhoff — in a bid to plug their leaky defence.

No team in the Premier League have conceded as many goals as the Black Cats this season.

And manager Sam Allardyce has wasted no time in bolstering their back line with the German centre-back

He's a big lad too... I think he's 6"5' or 6"6' ... Not sure how effective he is but could be tricky at set pieces with his height
