Going to interesting second half of the season.
Curtis is a very nice bloke and has been caretaker on a couple of occasions but never for a length of time before, somewhat a step into the unknown for Swansea Mason but it is not the first time they have done such a thing but the difference this time is that they are in a position that they have not encountered for many years and also in the toughest league in the world.

Agree Carl.
They're in a relegation battle for sure, and can't see them bringing many in this month.
It could go either way now.

Gutted. I really like Alan Curtis. Comes across a top bloke. Shame he's a jack.

We'll be fine, trust me, we're just playing with your emotions

Probably but would be funny if Curtis took you down. My prediction for relegation is Villa, Sunderland and Norwich.

Something tells me that they thought people would be lining up to take the job when they got shot of Monk...

Alan Curtis Swansea's equivalent to John Carver

my prediction is Vila,Norwich and Swansea to go down, Newcastle is a good footballing team when they want to be, Eddie Howe will keep Bournemouth up and Sam Allaydyce will save Sunderland again

A Swansea legend who has put his heart and soul into our club.....even at 61 he could still probably do a better job on the pitch than Gomis at the moment

Interesting that a replacement has not apparently been 'found' yet, as they're usually very good at management succession. I don't think they'll go down as there are at least three teams worse than them and all it takes is a decent pair of hands to get them clicking and they've got that in Alan Curtis. In the wacky world of modern football, he's a great asset to have as a permanent 'intrim' manager to shoe-in whenever needed. Plus he's had all his jabs so will be disease free from the freaks.

Interesting times for Swansea City. Sack their manager and no heir-apparent.
Appointing Curtis could be genius. He's an icon for them and an all-round good egg. BUT don't forget, he's also a successful BLUEBIRD! He played in the late 80's and scored a few vital goals. He's not all that bad. Just saying.

Loved Curtis when he was at City, the only true class we had in the side. It would be hard not to wish him well now.

I've known Alan Curtis for many years and is a personal friend, the man is an icon for the jacks and his knowledge of football is unrivalled.
Don't under estimate this decision by Jenkins. The only reason why Alan Curtis is not in top management is, because HE does'nt want to. He would rather work with the players on a daily basis from a coaching perspective than a managerial one.
The man is class and a real gentleman, don't under estimate him.
Wish he was in our camp tho.

When Leighton James and Alan Curtis retired from professional football both became active in the non-league scene in South Wales. James played for a number of clubs and used to be involved the Swansea city youngsters and of course tried his hand at management. Curtis was very active, played for Barry but around the scene a lot. Point is anyone knocking around the same scene in the late 80's and 90's would have come across the two guys, not necessary together, but they were well known,
What a world of difference between the two. Curtis, a humble lovely and gracious guy with time for everyone while James was the complete opposite.
I like curtis a great deal and I hope, for him alone, this works out.
I always hope the Jacks appoint someone I dislike

but in this case they have appointed a true gent that you wont find many people saying a bad word against.

This 100%
You know him much better than I do but i agree with everything you say.
It could be a stroke of genius from the board.
And yeah.... I wish he was one of us.

I wish they kept Monk as I really disliked that arrogant crusty faced tw*t

Rodgers too

Couldn't dislike Laudrup though he's a true legend of the game and I respected Martinez also.
Alan Tate as their next manager I say

Couldn't agree more, used to chat to him regularly in the Griffin pub in Pentre, an absolutely top bloke, no Jack will blame him if they do go down.

Lovely bloke, I really hope he has success, as he is one guy who deserves it. I'm one of those Cardiff fans that don't care if the Jacks are in the Premier, so good luck to him

Wrong choice, is he a better Manager than Allerdyce or Alex Neil ???
It's a relegation battle, he has not done the job before, and I can't see he motivating the players enough.
Allerdyce has just signed a 6 foot 5 Defender and is after another two, and Alex Neil a right back.
He is their last choice, as they failed to get all their targets despite travelling around the World, it will be an interesting run in, they possibly have a better squad than Sunderland and Norwich but are they up for a relegation battle ???
I think they will go down with Villa and possibly Norwich ???
Fri Jan 08, 2016 11:27 am
I'm looking forward to the Sunderland game a really pressure game, Allerdyce will park the buss and try and Nick a goal, it's going to be fun watching that game.....
