Cardiff City will NOT sign Wout Weghorst as they deny striker's claims deal is in place

' Cardiff City have issued a strong denial on Wout Weghorst and insisted they have no interest in a deal '
Wout Weghorst won’t become a Bluebird after Cardiff City moved to kill off speculation over a bid for the Dutch striker, ruling out a bid for Heracles star.
Weghorst, 23, had claimed on Thursday he was waiting to finalise a move to Cardiff City Stadium just 24 hours after the Eredivise outfit’s chairman, Jam Smit, maintained a fee had been agreed with the Bluebirds for the frontman.
Weghorst even went on to insist that he knew Cardiff boss Russell Slade was a fan of his and the transfer was a matter of getting a green-light from Bluebirds owner Vincent Tan.
Yet the club have firmly denied the claims or that a deal is in the pipeline, categorically telling WalesOnline they have “no interest in signing Wout Weghorst”.

The Netherlands Under 21 international had thought to have arrived on the club’s radar with speculation of interest last month, but it appears there is now no chance of the nine-goal striker arriving in South Wales this window.
Instead, Slade is believed to be pressing on other targets as part of plans to bolster his Bluebirds squad for a push to the play-offs having admitted he would like as many as three new signings over the next month of business.
It was suggested to WalesOnline over the weekend the club were eyeing-up a Championship forward having seen Kenwyne Jones quit Cardiff City Stadium for Abu Dhabi-based Al Jazira earlier this week having accepted the bumper pay-day on offer in the Middle East.
Out-of-favour strikers Federico Macheda and Alex Revell could be moved on in January as part of the squad re-shaping.

According to AD, Heracles striker Wout Weghorst has rejected a move to Cardiff City.
Earlier this week, Heracles chairman Jan Smit confirmed that the club had accepted a bid from the English Championship side, but the player has now rejected the move.
AD are reporting that the lack of action from Cardiff City and the duration of negotiations are behind Weghorst’s decision to say no to a move to Wales.
The rejection doesn’t mean the 23-year-old will remain in Almelo though, with Scottish side Celtic also reportedly interested.
