Agreed, when in Naples (which is a shithole in most places) , must try the ICE CREAM and the proper NEAPOLITAN PIZZA in the local backstreet places. 8-)

I stayed in Positano for a fortnite a few years ago - the surrounding Amalfi Coast is a stunning. Naples is worth a day or two, museums are good but as someone said it is generally not great. Be careful up the top-end (forget the district name), they look for tourist with expensive gear like watches.

Must do's are Pompeii, Vesuvius, Herculaneum, Positano, Capri, Ischea and Ravello. We stayed in Positano and I also hired a car but it stayed in the garage for the entire time as the immediate area are so nice. I wasn't that impressed with Sorrento but its a decent base to get to the other places. Seafood is incredible as all the food is - you cannot get decent Italian food outside of Italy in my experience - I've been about and its excellent here and make sure you eat in the place which is at the top of Ravello, its a small family rustic place, you can't miss it. Pompeii many folks do but miss Herculaneum which is a lesser know but equally interesting City that was destroyed by Vesuvius erupting.

The local booze is Lemoncillo which tastes like medice. Grappa is much better after a meal.

If you eat at night in Positano, there's an art gallery down the bottom near the pier that closes in the evening and a guy puts glass drinks bottles into a frame at the end which you can shoot with an airgun. Very therapeutic if indeed he's still doing it.

Enjoy the trip.
