' Cardiff City '

Cardiff could make a number of chances for this fixture as they have an opportunity to give game-time to the fringe players in their squad and also to rest their usual starting XI with two league away games in five days next week.

Stuart O’Keefe, Kagisho Dikgacoi, Matthew Kennedy, Federico Macheda and Sammy Ameobi could all be given a run out along with the likes of Declan John and Gabriel Tamas.

The fixture provides a perfect opportunity for Idriss Saadi to return to action but it doesn’t look like he will be fit in time. Cardiff will be without Sean Morrison who is still in a knee brace and will be out until at least mid-February. Simon Moore is expected to be given game-time ahead of number one David Marshall.

Ben Turner will be out until at least April with a serious ankle injury.

' Shrewsbury Town '

Midfielder James Wesolowski remains sidelined for the season with a serious knee injury. Larnel Coal and Liam McAlinden are currently on loan from Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively so Shrewsbury will have to request permission from their parent clubs for them to feature in this competition.

Goalkeeper Jayson Leutwiler has been out with a broken nose since the Shrews last FA Cup tie but he could return for this fixture.

The Football Association have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Shrewsbury Town this weekend.

Cardiff City host Shrewsbury Town on Sunday January 10 for the FA Cup Third Round tie at the Cardiff City Stadium and the match carries a 6pm kick off.

Referee: Peter Bankes
Linesmen: Ronald Ganfield and Andrew Turner
Fourth Official: Kevin Morris

Match Day referee Bankes is yet to officiate a Cardiff game this season.

He has however already taken in 22 other matches so far in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and Football divisions, he has handed out a total of 88 yellow cards and one red card.

He was most card happy in the match between Birmingham City and Reading on August 8 with a total of nine yellows being shown.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.
