Sheffield Wednesday want to keep Gary Hooper but will have to pay £3.5m to do it, report the Eastern Daily Press.

Hooper has been on loan at Hillsborough this season, making 11 appearances and scoring twice. That deal runs out on 17th January and Owls' boss, Carlos Carvalhal says he wants to keep him beyond that.

"I wish, seeing as it`s been my first option since the beginning as I tell them (the board). I wish that he`d stay here of course," Carvahal told BBC Radio Sheffield. "But let`s see as it`s something that I can`t control. Let`s see in the future."

Hooper has scored 20 goals in 70 appearances for Norwich City since a £5.5m move from Celtic in July 2013 and the EDP report that City have slapped a £3.5m fee on him.

Another rumour, mostly on Twitter yesterday, suggests Cardiff`s Craig Noone is still a possible Norwich target. Alex Neil was interested in the Bluebirds` winger in the January 2015 window, with reports at the time of a £2m offer, but according to Wales Online, the City boss may be getting ready to move again for the 28-year-old, who has also been linked with Bournemouth this month.

Noone is contracted to the Cardiff until 2018 and has scored four goals in 25 appearances for the Bluebirds this season.

' CRAIG NOONE '

The lively winger has been one of Cardiff’s most influential players this season and has been subject of transfer talk.

Premier League duo Norwich City and Bournemouth are thought to be weighing up a move for Noone.

Both sides were promoted from the Championship last season and are performing better than expected.

Noone has Premier League experience and turned full-backs inside out during his single season in the top-flight. The Cardiff man may be tempted with a move back to the Premier League, if Cardiff continue their stuttering form.

Is it just me, or has Noones form picked up, since it's become public knowledge that these clubs are interested in him

Sell him if the price is right

City do not play to his strengths. Like a lot of players in our squad 442 doesnt suit.

He was at his best in Malkys 451 where hes got more midfielders around him to do the donkey work and he can just concentrate on attacking.

Id have 3 in central midfield and Watt and Noone playing off a main striker, especially at home.

I like noone but would be shocked if this is true. He hasn't tore up the championship the last two years. If that is down to the formation, injuries manager etc. I don't know. I just can't see what the scouts would have seen in him recently too warrant another stab at the premiership

he has maybe one excellent game in 10, and a good game in 5. the rest he may go past a player or two but can't defend because of his size and for a wide player his delivery is poor. he is definitely a player that if a decent bid comes in you'll drive him up there.

i very much doubt bournemouth and norwich would be interested in him though.

Would prefer him to stay. Maybe inconsistent but often a matchwinner for us.

Totally agree, can see him being a big hit when he moved at another club.

He's been playing for a move lately, shit until end of Nov probably will get clubs desperate for an extra something to give themselves every chance of staying in the premiership this yr with the money on offer now

Bollocks, Noone might be inconsistent but he's always given his all.

Agree Comoplete bull shit, we always assume players have an agenda these days but a modest guy like noone always digs in and wants to succeed, imo we need to improve on him because he goes off the boil for too long

A player can't just turn his form on and off like a tap if he wants a move or not. :laughing6:
