Steve Mokone is deceased at the age of 82 in a hospital in the United States. Reported NIS presenter Tom Egbers, who wrote two books about him Friday via Twitter. Born in South Africa, former football player was the first dark foreign professional player in the Netherlands. He was nicknamed The Black Meteor.
Mokone began his international career in 1955 with the English Coventry City. In 1957 he signed a contract with Heracles. He impressed on his debut by immediately scoring twice. Mokone had with his goals an important part in the championship of Heracles in the second division in 1958. A year later he left after a dispute over pay rise to Cardiff City.
