A forum for all things Cardiff City

Cardiff City find themselves in another open top parade having won their 5th consecutive league cup with manager Craig Bellamy insisting his policy to use the younger players will benefit the club in their challenge for their 4th consecutive quintuple.
Bellamy had a private meeting with Steve Tucker of Wales Online at the exclusive Penarth restaurant The Fig Tree where he shared his plans and dream for Cardiff City.
"You see not many around realise the young players we have are experienced footballers now. They are the finished products and all we need to do now is implement them into the first team as our established stars begin to wane. Signing Tony Watt was obviously the beginning of our revival and thanks to the extremely reliable David Marshall we've pushed on so much since I took over. These two are the standouts in what was already a fantastic team that was in place. My other key additions as well as giving our young players opportunities really allowed us to push on. Give us a few more seasons and we will be known as a world class team and be ready to take our place in the European League next season".
Tucker was in awe. " You replaced Russell Slade just as the season in the championship petered out. Talk of a play off spot stopped after the December but securing a permanent move for Watt and putting you in charge were master strokes. In the meantime we sold off some deadweights that you couldn't see in your long term plans. Watching the likes of Stuart O'Keefe and Revell fail to keep Swansea in the football league last season truly vindicated your decision to move them on. Slade had intended to bring in more lower league journeymen and start again. It truly began to show that with Russell in charge for much longer it'd be unlikely that we stayed in the Championship.
Looking back Slade did an awful job and with the talk of dropping season ticket sales something had to be done. It was always going to be Slade who took the hit. You were brought in because well basically you were a popular choice. You know the score ex player local boy. It did the trick as season ticket sales match the 2014/15 season. The fear had been conquered for now.
So here we are 5 years into your first management post. There was a lot of talk about bringing in some quality players through the summer, just the fact that the famous Craig Bellamy was in charge weas enough to convince the likes of Hazard and Fabegas that a championship promotion push with Chelsea wasn't worth the money. A number of the academy players came into the squad. The season started and the results were truly unexpected. Top of the league by October undefeated, Beating Sevilla 8-1 in the Europa League group stages was a particular highlight. Many are criticising Vincent Tan for nopt showing the ambition to expand to a 60,000 seater stdium as soon as promotion was achieved. In fact some are questioning if the club should be sold and Sam Hammam brought back in charge. Your honeymoon period is over and now its down to the real business. Do you think you will keep the faith of the supporters on your side?"
